This story reminded me of so many things - listening to the people who read the names of the dead on 9/11, wandering through an old cemetery in a little town on the East Coast, being astonished at the methods of entombment in New Orleans. Like so many of your stories, you mingle sorrow and sweetness here, pain and comfort. And always, a little bit of wisdom that the reader is allowed to keep. Author Reply: Thank you for such a wistful response. I'm glad it touched you. Thank you :) :)

This is a lovely tribute. I once worked for a photographer and during my time there a woman who knew she was dying came in to have photos made for her family while she was still well enough to do so. I remember how odd it all seemed and how hard the photographer tried to make this seem like any other session while all of us, including the woman being photographed, knew that this was one of those last things that you do for your famiy. She was a lovely person and I am sure that her family treasure the photos, but it was so very sad. Author Reply: Thank you for sharing that, GW :) I'm sure they did treasure them :)
