| Awwww... I had the silliest smile on my face at the end of this. I loved how you kept the essential Pippin, and yet he was so grown up and changed. How lovely to think that his heart knew Diamond instantly. I quite agree with Pip's egotistical statement - I'm sure that every lass in the Shire would have been throwing herself at the future Thain, grown so tall and sure of himself. It is amazing how clearly we see these lovely few moments in Pippin's life. Author Reply: Oh, good! Silly smiles are definitely where I was headed! I know stories are made from strife and drama, but I am such a blasted romantic at heart that I just wanted love at first sight for him. They're both underage so there won't be anything happening yet... Hmmm... *plot bunnies scurry* Where was I? Oh, yes! Oh, every lass in the Shire probably was (or at least their mothers) - but they weren't there that day! Heheheh! | |

| At their first touch, an unexpected charge, like lightning, coursed through him. It thrilled and terrified him at the same time. Her lips moved against his, sliding and caressing in a way that felt shockingly familiar, like a beloved song heard again after many silent years. She felt so good! | After all his sword training I don't suppose that Pippin would get blisters from a pitchfork but hot and sweaty at the sight of Diamond? - Oh yes! I enjoyed this. Author Reply: LOL! Truth be told, so would I - though we were all given the same story starter to begin and I just saw it as Pippin. I think the originator of the challenge was hoping to have someone write the protagonist as Frodo, but we participants wrote everyone under the sun but! LOL!
