I just read a review you left on one of Elendiari's stories, and thought I would find your work. What a lovely idea! For him to have to go back to that dimly remembered scene of horror must have taken a strong sense of duty. Even in the book, one gets a sense that his father really did want to spare him from what he saw as a hopeless bitter end. I do like the thought that Eowyn would help him to face that dark memory, and let him know that from then on, everything important that they would do, they would do together. Really lovely! I look forward to reading more of your work. Author Reply: I apologize for the long delay in reviewing-- I'm just now getting back on this site after a long absence, and I have some catching up to do, obviously! And thank you for the review. This one was a good bit darker than what I normally write, so it's good to get some positive feedback on it.

Very gripping! For some reason, I never thought of actually writing a fic about Faramir in the Hallows in searh of the crown. It's very plausible, that he would find the palantir and try to use it, and also that Eowyn would follow him. This is a very good read. Author Reply: Thanks! I'm not really sure why that idea came to me... I hadn't really seen anything similar to it before though. But I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

To know that the love might have been twisted yet still there must have been a relief to him at that moment, knowing his father sought his release rather than the horrific end likely from orcs. Author Reply: I'm glad that came across all right. It's so hard for me to get inside Denethor's head on this, let alone attempt something that might look like I'm defending his actions (which I guess I am, to some extent). I was thinking more about Faramir coming to terms with it, which he'd have to at some point in order to really heal.

Interesting encounter of Faramir and that fateful palantir. I like the flashback to the brothers' unauthorized visit to their father's study, the consequences of Faramir's innocent curiosity, and Denethor's horror at the result... Author Reply: Poor little guy... I figured it would be just like him to get drawn into something like that, especially with his farsight. I was hoping to show perhaps a softer side of the relationship between Faramir and Denethor here, so I hope that was successful.

This is such a touching story !Poor faramir,I always wonder however he could bring himself to fetch the crown after all that had happened. Author Reply: Yeah, that's why it jumped out at me so much on my last reading. Knowing that the crown was left in the same place where all this traumatic stuff had happened to him made me wonder just how much it would have taken out of him to go there again. And thanks for reading!
