This one truly has me in tears, Primsong. What a beautiful expression of Frodo's leaving, and the reason so many choose to leave with him. Thank you so very much. This has to be one of the most beautiful LOTR poems I've read by any but the Master himself. And I hope his birthday brought you joy.

What a mood of peaceful melancholy this invokes--the sorrow of parting, yet the hope of healing.

You know, this could very easily be sung. I was rereading and sang the first verse just now. Then I felt the tears coming and couldn't sing any more. :-)

*wipes eyes* Oh, Primsong, that is absolutely beautiful! These verses completely capture the escence of the many partings on that day. Wonderful! God bless, Galadriel P.S. It's so good to find authors I know from other places. I read stories at the LOTR fan club archive for a long time before I found this site.
