I just have to say it.
Your stories are wonderful!

Author Reply: Thank you very much. I'm glad you are enjoying them.

I love the detailed pictures that Legolas makes Aragorn see in the wintry wood, especially the stream that 'sounds like the tinkling of tiny silver bells ringing in the distance. That is just such a wonderful image.

On the other hand, I can also see how Aragorn can be taken over by the cold and the sheer effort of moving and surviving in the difficult conditions! The perception of beauty relies to a degree on physical comfort and protection from the elements.

Author Reply: Thank you very much. I think despite all that the Shadow was doing to Mirkwood, there was beauty there that Legolas was happy to share with his friend.

A cold human in deep snow with no snow shoes is indeed going to be engaged in a supreme effort to move and survive. I totally agree with your last statement. Aragorn would not have been the least receptive to what Legolas had to show him unless he could move around freely and felt comfortable about being out in the snow again.

good story. It's nice and I can picture it in my mind a bit more clearly because there's snow outside my window at the moment.

Author Reply: Thank you. Anything that helps bring the story to life for a reader is good. Send some of that snow my way. I never get any.

Now all we have to do is go out into our own winter wonderlands and imagine having that wonderful elf next to us. I can't wait!

Author Reply: I'll not only have to imagine having that wonderful elf beside me, I'll also have to imagine the snow, as well. Where I live we rarely ever get any.
