“I should have come alone,” Frodo said, his friends’ concern bringing a smile to his lips. I have enjoyed this 'look' at post Ring-war Mordor, but I have to confess, I find it a little suspect that Frodo would put his companions through this effort. Hobbits being the type to brush off such traumas as Merry and Pippin did, I think Frodo would too - only finding out that this was an experience he really couldn't dismiss long after he had left Gondor. Just my 0.02. It's still entertaining and well written, as are all of your works.

It did take the two of them, with the addition of Gollum at the end, to do all that was done. And they are indeed far more powerful than they are willing to accept, aren't they?

Too many things I enjoyed here to list... Frodo's coughing (you would figure that, wouldn't you?), a bit of stern Aragorn, the loyalty of Frodo's friends once again, and wow---mithril stored in Mordor! It does make perfect sense that Sauron would have hoarded treasures... perfect sense. Gimli is the best here... he's really determined to set things as right for Frodo as possible. :)

I love the way the members of the Fellowship continue to support and comfort Frodo. Gimli has obviously been a busy Dwarf, bless him. How lovely to see Frodo and Sam referred to as Beings of Power. I don't think either of them ever realised what was concealed within, but thankfully others recognised it.

I love the way you tie this in with canon and the way you portray the Hobbits and Aragorn.I am most eager to read what happens next.

That's a very mean sentence to end a chapter with. What a great idea to use the scarf! Bless Pippin! I like what Gandalf said - two beings of power. If only they could acknowledge it.

I am finally all caught up w/this. I read the first chapter a few weeks ago, but then I went on a trip and when I got back...I'd rather not talk about. Anyway...I was so happy to get the update in my Inbox today. I love your Aragorn, but you know that. ;o) The way he treats all them like family...It's exactly how I feel Aragorn would have felt about the hobbits and Fellowship in general. All became family of the heart and sometimes that's more loving than actual family at times. There are times I wish I could do what Gimli is hinted at doing here. I often wonder if literally kicking the stuffing out of something would have helped at times. I'm glad Gimli was able to...Get some sort of feeling of getting even for Frodo's sake. Bless Merry and Pippin and their guessing game. That would have not only helped Frodo, but everyone. I also love your guard, who's name is escaping me at the moment, and his reactions to the hobbits and Aragorn. Considering I, and others, have had the impression Denethor's court would have been rigidly controlled by protocol, anyone in the old order *would* have a hard time getting used to Aragorn's way of doing things. Including a Lord who is willing to laugh and enjoy life. Poor Frodo and Sam, but especially Frodo. It's not easy facing things like this and sometimes when you try, the people around you make it worse without realizing it. Frodo was lucky to have Aragorn and the rest of them. Looking forward to the next chapter.

I wanted to review the last chapter, but I got thrown offline and couldn't get back on for the longest time, and then, a few days later when I did get back on, I couldn't remember what I was going to say! :( And I keep telling myself that I *must* wait till it's finished to reread it all--as I surely will. :) Ha! Merry has a point! Leave it to the heroes to argue about who is the best hero. :) You portray the characters so well, especially the hobbits-of course! :) And is the end of this one supposed to be a cliff-hanger? *paces with anticipation* I'm not going to push it, because everyone knows I take forever to update, especially The Last Days, but...Oh, pleeeease update ASAP! I love this! God bless, Galadriel

And now I'll have to wait for more... But I love the way the Fellowship interacts in this -- the way they keep working together, whether it's to find a way to protect Frodo's feet or his heart, and for all of them to agree, and Gandalf! that TWO beings of power broke Sauron's watchers... well, you know that pleased me, mightily. Write on!
