| I love this! It reads beautifully in the Rohirric style (or at least how I imagine it), and reminds me of some of JRRT's unfinished tales & HOME work. You really captured the spirit of those moments. Thanks for writing it!! Author Reply: Wow, thank you! I just love the HoME, especially 'Sauron Defeated,' and I suppose this was inspired by the scenes with Frodo and Sam in Meduseld, where the lay is sung again. | Flawless. I've attempted this style from time to time myself and *it is NOT easy*! I don't think I have ever succeeded. You did it magnificently, and I can easily imagine this being declaimed by a Rohirric skald at a feast in Meduseld, honoring the kinsman of their beloved Holdwine! I think that JRRT himself would appreciate the effort put into this. Author Reply: *blushes furiously* Well, I can tell you that it *was* quite difficult. But the compound words are such fun! ;) I just love the Old English way of expressing things, and that style of giving metaphorical names to things.
