I remember this from LJ, wasn't it? Thanks for posting it here and giving me the chance to re-read it. I always enjoy stories that show Pippin (or the others) being competent in the kitchen. Speaking of which--are you going to enter the Shire Kitchen Recipe Fic Challenge? All *this* one needs is a recipe....*nudge*nudge*bats eyes* Author Reply: Of course, I'd have to *find* a recipe before I could add it. *grins* This was based on my memories of the rhubarb pie my mom made on occasion when I was a kid, but I don't bake, so I don't have any recipes lying around. Maybe I'll do a search, though. :)

That is a superb bit of making the punishment fit the crime from Great Aunt Petunia. And Pippin has acquired a life-long skill! I just hope Merry doesn't consider that firing Pippin's hair is the answer to that disaster! Author Reply: I just hope Merry doesn't consider that firing Pippin's hair is the answer to that disaster! I'm sure Merry is plotting some sort of revenge, to be served long after Pippin's forgotten the entire incident. :)

*Aw-Choo* Thanks for the fluff alert. *g* Shame that I don't like rhubarb! Author Reply: I have fond memories of the rhubarb pie that my mom used to make when I was a kid. Thanks for reading, even if you don't like rhubarb. :D

I love this one and I do think I remember it from LJ at some point. The Aunt Petunia was one smart hobbit. She taught Pippin a lesson and passed on her pie baking skills all at the same time. I am left only wondering about that candle. Author Reply: I think Pippin would go to great lengths to keep anyone from ever finding out more about that candle, lol. I think I posted this over the summer on lj, probably a slow day at work prompting me to play with Merry and Pippin. :)
