Pitfalls of the Palantir  by Haleth 4 Review(s)

ok I am confused. How did they know about Tang and what does it mean other than a breakfast drink ? also Inglor as Haleth's accomplice? Hmmm

Author Reply: Thank-you for reviewing again. Haleth's appearance doesn't do much to inspire confidence. They think she's on their side...sort of...maybe. Haleth also tends to be hypersensitive to people. She's got a huge inferiority complex. All of her interactions with other people tend to get filtered through it.

Oh, such a treat! Three chapters on a row!

As usual, I have more questions than smart comments. Shall we ever get to know more circumstances about Haleth and how she met Inglor and why she so mistreats herself and why she is called a thief? Shall we, shall we, shall we?

The reciprocal reluctance between her and Imladris in general was very amusing, but I fear that you are punishng her most underservedly, if in a very amusing way. Peas through her nose! Now that was a scene I would have paid for seeing...

Questions and smart comments are more than welcome. They're inspirational.

There is a story describing how Inglor and Haleth meet. It was started a few years ago and still isn't ready for public posting.

Haleth might be a little over-sensitive about how the people in Rivendell have received her.

And the peas through the nose was based on an actual incident. I don't recommend it.

Thank-you again.

Poor Haleth. I would really love to know a bit more about both Inglor's and Haleth's background (so much mystery). How bad can Haleth's luck be...choking on her food then having a nose bleed. Can't wait for the next chapter...maybe Inglor can ask Haleth some more "difficult"questions and take her mind off what happened at dinner .

Author Reply: Thank-you, Kathy_SSF.

Haleth really does have bad luck at the dinner table. She's probably a little too sensitive about the elves' reactions to her.

I'm glad you're enjoying the mystery behind the characters. There are hints of Haleth's background through the story. Inglor, on the other hand, doesn't really give many hints about his exact origins.

Thanks again.

Poor Haleth. The more she tries to be discreet and anonymous, the more she stands out. And she is seriously uncomfortable here. I wonder why? What made Elrond command that she be treated kindly while she feels that everyone is suspicious of her. It must be more than Inglor's presence. She fascinates me. Her background is clearly very complicated - and she wants to hide it as deeply as possible.

The thought of the elves imitating her ... adventures with peas, though. Not to be recommended!

Author Reply: Thank-you, Bodkin.

The inspiration for the pea up the nose episode was taken from an actual incident. I wouldn't advise it.

You're quite right about Haleth. She has a long, convoluted past and she is not proud of the things she's done.

Thank-you again for reviewing.
