Hello? Helloooooooo? Just checking in, maybe agitating a little for an update. An update would be very nice indeed. Say, at one point, Faramir refers to Denethor as "Dad". That struck me as horribly modern and out of place. Just a bit of a note. Anyway, please update soon. This is really a very excellent fanfic. Cheers, Chibi-Kaz Author Reply: Hi Chibi-Kaz - Regarding "Dad," all I can say is oops, I thought I changed that. I'll fix the chapter. As far as where the heck is the next chapter, it's in the hands of my Beta reviewers. I'm sorry that I am so slow (she says, sheepishly). It might be a couple of weeks before the next chapter gets posted because I'm going on vacation. But rest assured that the next chapter is complete and will be posted within the next week or two. Just to give you a hint, in this one I subject my characters to the type of emotions I usually don't write for them, but are very popular with fans of Faramir fics. And both Faz and 'Wyn experience these emotions. Thanks for your support and the fix. - Steff

Well, so what if Éowyn lusts for Faramir? He's handsome and she's an overdue virgin. Lust is'ntlove, on the contrary. (I myself have examples for this!) Love is what she had for Aragorn; you will not persuade me! You know already -- great fic! Thanks! Irene Author Reply: Hi Irene - You say: "lust isn't love. Love is what she had for Aragorn; you will not persuade me! :) :) :) Looks like I have my work cut out for me then. Thanks for reading. - Steff

I love how Faramir skated over the idea of whether Denethor would've liked Eowyn. Do you think he would've approved? I am not so sure. Eowyn has certainly been overcome with lust for our sweet Faramir. What is the rating of this story again? *wink* That was quite enjoyable and I hope to read more soon! (Just in case you didn't see on the site, I think you should change your link on CJ. It takes you to an editing page where someone could edit your story.) Author Reply: Hi Lucidity - I've done several tableaux of "Faramir introduces Eowyn to Denethor" with my LOTR action figures and still aren't sure whether Tolkien's and Jackson's Denethor would have liked Eowyn. I'm sure he would have approved of the match from a political perspective, but I suspect Jackson's Denethor would have rather had Boromir wed Eowyn. However, in "Avoidance" and the Steffverse, Den would rather have unmarried Boromir lead the troups and Faramir make the political marriage. That way he could manipulate both his sons. And yeah, poor Eowyn is really wondering what is happening to herself in regard to her lusty feelings for Faramir. The rating is PG-13 and most likely will stay that way. I certainly plan to put in some clinches, but as far as explicit sexuality is concerned, hmmm, most likely not gonna happen. Thanks for your heads up about CJ, by the way. I'll up and fix the link. - Steff

I like the development of Eowyn's relationship with Faramir - first she regards him as her friend, then she finds herself lusting after him, and knows that he loves her. It's an important distinction from her rather narrow view of Aragorn and infatuation with him - she never knew him, and barely spoke to him, before deciding he was her knight in shining armor - the friendship that deepens into physical attraction is far more promising, and adult. Author Reply: You got it, Raksha. I'm glad that the message that you note is getting through. Poor 'Wyn hasn't got a clue that lust and love can run hand in hand, though. But if I say more, I'll give away what happens in the next few chapters. Which I've only started to write :( . Thanks so much for your help with this one. - Steff

So pleased to find another wonderful chapeter in this well written story. After a year of lurking, I've registered in order to add another voice to the chorus of "Well Done Stefania!" Thank you and if you hear an odd creaking in the floorboards, it's just me pacing in anticipation of the next chapter. ; ) Author Reply: Glad to meet you, Queens Reader. I'm flattered (Steff says humbly) that you have joined SoA so that you could review "Avoidance." There are some great stories on this board. - Steff

I love the way you describe Eowyn's confused feelings. It is good too to see Faramir speaking so openly and you had some lovely touchs of humour. I think you mean Adrahil is Faramir's grandfather rather than his great uncle. Author Reply: FIXED !! Adrahil is, once again, Faramir's grandfather. Thanks for finding this, Linda. That goof slipped past three noses. And thanks, as ever, for your support. - Steff
