| I know you won't get this till after Lent (I was a little too late in reading these last few chapters) But I couldn't help saying that I absolutely love them! Sam's children are marvelous, and I am so happy that Frodo can finally enjoy them all, even if he can't meet them! It makes me smile. I can't wait for the rest of it, but I guess I'll have to, huh? | Whew! Caught up with the letter shower! Great stuff. You have my admiration in giving up hobbits for lent. I actually considered it myself but decided that I derive more spiritual benefit from reading than abstaining to give them up. Besides I have many more evil habits to give up first! *grin* Things like eating too much, driving everywhere, eating, etc, etc! | |

| Well, I read all the last chapters in one go without stopping. Now I wish I had-they would have lasted longer! :) But you leave us on a very happy note; we know that Frodo and Sam are healed and delightfully busy and happy, and that's very heartening. You certainly did make a heroic effort, as you said, and it was more than I could have done. And six weeks is far more bearable than sixty years! As this is my last chance to do so, I'll say, good luck on those six weeks. And if it's any encouragement, it does us all good to take a break sometimes, and it makes the return the sweeter-for author and readers! :) I still remember how rapturously I read the first chapter of TLO after Advent.
