| I wonder why the need to bespell that door? Interesting! I did start reading this story when you began posting it, but didn't follow it past the first couple of chapters. But as it is up for a MEFA I thought I owed it to you to read it this time all the way through. Author Reply: Bless you, Larner. I do so hope you enjoy it. As for the bespelling of the door - whatever that cad, Saruman, was after - he obviously needed privacy. (We first learn of a door spell in the Mines of Moria when Gandalf uses one in the chamber of Mazarbul.) "I do not know," answered Gandalf. "But I found myself suddenly faced by something that I have not met before. I could think of nothing to do but to try and put a shutting-spell on the door. | Weddings are such weird events. On the surface, they're about two people who love each other, but underneath, there's so much seething family politics. They bring out the best and the worst in people, I think. Fengel is an odd duck. No wonder Gondor and Rohan fell into such disrepair, if these were the guys taking care of them when the Shadow started to grow. Curunir is definitely Mr. Nasty. I can't help but feel that something very bad and personality-warping is in the offing for Denethor. Author Reply: I loved writing Curunir.... he creeped me out - I don't know where it came from - but he definitely is Mr. Nasty, as you said. Denethor's distrust (fear) of wizards is now deep!
