| Ah! Haleth has finally found one thing she is good at and which interests the Elf! good for her! INglor's reaction was...beautiful, moving, I'd say. And for once they have found a different ending to one of their discusions. Haleth would do well remembering this strategy,:-) It also moved me that she could revive faces and voices while singing songs that hadn't been sung... for an Age? How old is she? Not sure about Haleth, but I, for one, do not remember what happened last time they crossed Mirkwood... (hints, ;-)) As for my list of clues, well :-) A blond, scholarly, friend of mortals, Elf called Inglor, respected and -to a certain point- protected in Rivendell, and well-versed in dwarven etiqquette... well, as I said in my first review, I am taking him for his namesake and I haven't been dissapointed so far! :-) Author Reply: Thank-you, perelleth It's interesting to speculate on how an elf would react to something entirely new. Poor Inglor. His first new experience in millennia is rude songs. How old is Haleth? Older than she looks. Tedicus, An interesting relationship going on here Haleth. Mystery and humor with lots of sexual inuendo, this is my bag baby! I'm glad I didn't give up at the begining with the lemming myth business, the banter and introspection are making this a quite entertaining tale. Looking forward to where this is going. Author Reply: Thank you, Tedicus I'm happy you're enjoying the story. You're right. Lemmings do not, in fact, throw themselves off cliffs. They will crowd each other off cliffs or drown if they fall into unfamiliar bodies of water, but they aren't suicidal. Haleth | |

| I've been reading this from its inception, and enjoying it very much. Frankly, I didn't much care for the whimsy in the beginning, but it is growing and developing in very interesting ways. I look forward particularly to finding out what Haleth actually is, because the way that I read it the hints seems to indicate that she is not in fact human, or if she was is not any longer. And in Middle-earth there is a very limited list of things she could be, since she is surely not an elf,dwarf, orc, balrog, ent or hobbit. The possibilities I am considering are (i) stray wizard (Tolkien said at one point that there were more than five) who has forgotten what she is, or (ii) mortal who accepted a starter Ring of Power from Celebrimbor in an unwise moment (Tolkien did say that the Mirdain made more than just the Great Rings). It is very amusing to speculate and I await future episodes with anticipation. Author Reply: Thank-you, Anna I'm glad you persevered through the initial silliness (there is a lot of it) and are finding the story a bit more enjoyable. I am very flattered that you're putting so much thought into Haleth's identity. I hope you'll forgive me if I don't divulge the information at this time. | Experiencing something new - yes, that must be rather earth-shattering for an elf past his first couple of millennia. I love the picture in my head of a wide-eyed, open-mouthed Inglor. And, surely, much more satisfying for Haleth than losing her temper at his managing ways. (Still don't get why they're avoiding Eryn Lasgalen, though - although I'm sure Inglor knows. And just doesn't want to say.) Brilliant stuff. Author Reply: Thank-you again, Bodkin I guess it would be a surprise to discover something new. Inglor is so certain he's experienced everything before. Haleth's lewd ditty lifts him out of himself and shows him that there are still new things in the world. Inglor has (he believes) good reason for avoiding Eryn Lasgalen. And you're right. He doesn't want to explain them and will likely manage to avoid clarifying. Thanks again. Haleth | |

| Haleth is such character. I love reading her! This chapter was wonderful, just like all the others. But when did Haleth and Ingor meet in Laketown? I didn't miss that, did I? Your story has a lot of open ends, but the mystery is enticing. Too many authors just throw everything into your lap. I espeically loved how you bought up the point that an elf doesn't have many new experiences after living so long. I don't think many people remember this, but you sure did, and you played it to the fullest. Bravo ;) Author Reply: Thank-you, kelsey. I'm glad you're enjoying the story. You haven't missed the two of them meeting. It's a separate story and it's somewhere in the editting process. In theory, the little mysteries and allusions scattered through this story are the seeds of future stories. It's been quite challenging posting the this particular tale at Stories of Arda as people aren't shy about calling me on the loose ends and inconsistencies. Thanks again. Haleth | |
