Pearl, Great beginning! I'm loving this so far, though I felt so badly for Pippin when he got such a rude awakening from that horrid Persimonne witch. What a horrible thing to have to go through, and in front of all those people too! I could just feel for him, with his rage and his hurt and his embarassment. I'm glad that Merry understood him and what he was going through, but then Merry always does. I felt badly for Merry too, as his arm begins to hurt as Pip rides away. I'm glad Pippin thought to send him a quick post message. I had to chuckle at the giggles they all got trying to move Pippin to the bigger bed. Sounds like something my family would have done. We were always collapsing into giggles at the most inappropriate times. I'm glad I found this story. It looks to be a great way to pass a sleepless night. Author Reply: Hi, AspenJules! I'm glad you found this story as well :) Yes, there's a rough start, some rough patches, but some others fun parts as well. I hope you continue to enjoy :)

Loved the effort it took to move Pippin and how amused they all became. That was priceless! I also liked the visit with the assistant healer who a lack of tact! I also liked the way Pippin remembered his actual broken ribs before and the affect it had on him. Still lovin' this one. You never disappoint me! Author Reply: Aw, thank you so much, GW!! Yes, Dreamflower is doing a good job of helping me see some things that need to be added to the original :) The healer and his apprentice are two of my favorite OCs in this story :) Thank you again :)

Well - some good care there at Long Cleeve. Even to making him a new bed! (Though the struggle to transfer him into it could have been nasty.) Although you can't do anything after dark, Isengrim, that you can't also do in daylight. And you can't do any of those things while you're unconscious. Except possibly if you sleepwalk. It'll do Pippin good to spend some time flat on his back getting to know a normal girl rather than wasting time on those light-minded lightskirts - and it seems as if he's already inclined to like Diamond. Author Reply: Ah, yes - but you never know how might know and talk spreads like wild fire in such a close community as the Shire ;) Yes, it will do him good to meet someone in a different setting than at parties. Thank you so much, Bodkin, for reading and responding :)

"But then again, there was Diamond. Pippin closed his eyes and smiled a little. Of all the relatives in the North Farthing . . . that he should end up at Long Cleeve Farm, that he would be in Diamond's home. His smile deepened as he fell asleep." Ooooh! I don't remember this from old version...very nice! :-) The idea that Pippin knew of Diamond before his excursion to the Northfarthing. :-) The whole scene of the siblings dragging poor Pippin from one bed to the other had me rolling! The healer and his apprentice was the cherry atop a very hobbity chapter (in a very hobbity tale!). I am thoroughlyy enjoying this wonderful story! Now to get those two together... ;-) Pippinfan Author Reply: Thank you, thank you, thank you, Pippinfan :) I felt that Tooks would know each other, that the extended family would have get togethers and such. I'm glad you enjoyed the accommodation of Pippin and the cheery healers :) Thank you for reading this again and for responding :)

It appears this match had been a time coming. Wonderful how things work out! And I liked the advertisement given for the medicament. Lovely! Tom is learning his craft well. Author Reply: Thank you, Larner :) Yes, I think Tom will be a wonderful healer, if he remembers to not be too graphic in front of the patients :)
