Very good chapter - it seems only fitting that Boromir return *crosses fingers in hope* when the City is repaired.

Too deeply hurt for too long, perhaps? Or will Aragorn's aid be enough? Author Reply: It will certainly do no harm! jenolas

I am still fascinated with your story. But, alas! I am a nitpicker. To ride from Osigiliath to Minath Tirith would take half a day (on a lame horse). I can't help, I'm simply disturbed by such blobs and even more when I enjoy a story. There are maps, plenty of them, you only need to look at them. `Tis a bagatelle, of course, your story is great! I’m sorry you haven’t been well, jenolas. I hope you’re feeling better. *hugs* How hard it must have been for Faramir to leave his brother, even though it was to get him some help. There must have been that fear of letting go when he couldn’t trust that he would see him again - and he knows very well the pain that would cause. I’m sure I’ve said it before, but I do enjoy the friendship between Boromir and Haldir! Haldir seems like someone who needs purpose at the moment, and Boromir gives him that – and it turns out that they have much in common! LOL at them joking about their brothers. That was a good point about how Boromir shouldn’t see his beloved city so war damaged or the guilt and grief would be too much to bear. Of course Faramir would still see clearly enough to do what was best for his brother, no matter how much he may have wanted him by his side. You made me laugh with overwhelmed!Aragorn leaving an ink blot on his address! I do think Legolas is showing great wisdom in staying out of Gondor’s affairs, though ;-) I don’t blame Legolas and Aragorn for being concerned for Faramir at first – it does rather sound like this trip has had the opposite effect than Aragorn intended. And their concern for him is so touching, as is their attempt to console. What a surprise it must have been to read Haldir’s message! I love that Aragorn doesn’t even hesitate about going, even though you’ve made it clear how busy he is. I’m excited to see what happens next! It’s great to have you back. But never worry about us – we’ll be here whenever you’re able to update :-)

I don't blame Faramir for dashing back for some extra-affectionate farewells. After all, the last time he said good-bye... Haldir is doing a good job of looking after Boromir - I'm glad he sent a letter to Aragorn, because otherwise the King might be looking for a padded room right about now. Legolas was sensible to keep his fingers out of Gondor's pies, really. It won't take much for some of Gondor's lords to start looking for reasons to put this particular new broom back in his cupboard. They've had a long time to get used to life without a king. I enjoyed Aragorn dropping blots on his speech. Even if he didn't!
