Oh, I simply adore this!! I have dying to read something like this with a baby Frodo and tween Saradoc. You have made my day! Author Reply: Thank you! It's quite unusual to see the two of them together in young years. Glad you enjoyed it.

That's so sweet. Baby Frodo...too cute. :) Poor Saradoc. Long-distance relationships are no fun. But at least we know it works out in the end. :) Author Reply: Glad you enjoyed it.

This is a delightful story. I've seen so many stories where Frodo interacts with a baby Pippin, but never one where Frodo is the baby and Saradoc is the older cousin. It's beautiful to see the relationship from this vantage point - you know there must have been affection there, for Frodo to be taken in after his parents die, and for Merry and Frodo to become so close later. I love it when someone shows me familiar characters in a new way. We all know Frodo MUST have been an adorable baby, but I never thought of Saradoc as a love-struck tween. Thanks for giving me something new to think about. Author Reply: Thank you. I enjoy to discover Frodo's past, especially where his Buckland relations are involved. As you say, there must have been some affection even if it wasn't the same that will one day exist between Frodo and Merry. But there has certainly been a reason for Saradoc to give Frodo a new place in his family.

Saradoc smiled despite himself and tousled the mop of ebony curls. "You're a scallywag indeed." Frodo grinned. "Sawa!" he repeated before announcing that he now wanted back down. That's so cute :) The word "scallywag" reminds me of a long time ago when I was playing the best computer adventure game ever - "The Secret of Monkey Island". That is now, I think, nearly 16 years ago. It was about a young man who desperately wanted to be a pirate - and there were lots of people who called him "scallywag" ;-) But now back to Frodo and Sara! I loved it to see those two in the same situations as some years later Frodo and Merry will be. It is wonderful to imagine that there has always been a special relationship between the Bagginses and the Brandybucks. So, you are missing Saradoc in your German story? That would be part two, then. I wonder how long Frodo will be living in Buckland - and who of the two Bagginses will do the first step into a future life together. Well, we'll see! Author Reply: You played computer games 16 years ago? *feels suddenly very young* Knowing Frodo's and Saradoc's later years I wanted to have a look at their earlier ones. And I kind of like this early look at their relationship. To be honest, Saradoc already reminds me of Merry :) Yes, I am missing Saradoc. As for your two questions, the first one I will answer, the second one you will have to wait for. I'm now trying to find the beginning of chapter 86... the first chapter in the Bag End part - so, you will still have plenty of time to spend with Saradoc... even more so than you had until now.

How adorable! Little Frodo cheering up Saradoc in just the way little Merry would one day cheer *him* up! I love stories that make these kinds of connections across the generations! Author Reply: Thank you, dear. That was just what I intended... a connection, a change perhaps. You seldom see stories with Saradoc and Frodo. Besides, I miss Saradoc since I don't write him in my German story anymore. Glad you liked it.
