Hello Stefania, looking for your email adress I stumbled onto this delightful short story. Directly I read it, I was reminded of Brecht's Pirate Jenny - it's funny for I really loved to listen to that song as a child! Great idea to mix it up with Middle Earth and one of my favourite characters as well. Lia Author Reply: Hi Lia - Thanks for your review. Sorry it's so late. Yes, Pirate Jenny was certainly the inspiration for this story. I loved "Threepenny Opera" as a young teenager in the 1960s. I used to sing "Pirate Jenny" along with the record and wish I could play that part in the show. That never happened, of course, but it did inspire Pirate Lothy. - Steff

Kevin Kline!?? ROTFLMAO!! I'd forgotten all about that production! With Angela Landsbury as Ruth, Linda Ronstadt and Rex Smith! LOL! (and yes, that cast list was from memory - I'm a theatre geek, theatre major, understudied Ruth once!) Cheers, Chibi-Kaz

Ha! I half expected the Corsair to bear a resemblance to a certain Captain Sparrow... ;-p :-D These are much fun. I hope there are more. Cheers, Chibi-Kaz Author Reply: Hee Hee. I imagined him to be more like Kevin Kline in that ancient "Pirates of Penzance" movie, where he sings Gilbert and Sullivan's "I am the Pirate King." I love Captain Jack but I suspect a little girl's imaginery pirate hero would be a bit wholesome. And yes, I have a few more ficlets to move over from HA. - Steff

A charming piece about an unusual girl! Lothiriel didn't grow up to be a corsair queen, but she did become Queen of Rohan, which is much better, of course.
