I love protective Merry dragging Pip into a closet to demand of him what he thinks he's doing. I can understand how disgusted he'd be that Pip was up to the same old things, fearing he'd be hurt again. Good for Pippin, though, pointing out how different she is, and how she acted. Rosie liking her really is a good thing, that Rosie is an uncommonly sensible lass. And what a thoughtful set of surprises Pip's arranged, with Rosie's help. Such a clever lad, our Pippin. Author Reply: Merry does keep more than an eye on his cousin. Much as things seem just as quick to Merry, the relationship had a much better start this time. Rosie and Sam are peas in a pod, full of good hobbit sense :) Thank you, AspenJules!

Yes, that appears to be true. A FAR different lass than the ones planning Pippin's future at the party! Author Reply: Yes. I think the others are the type that many lads think they want . . . until they've been around them for a while. Thank you so much, Larner for reading and responding :)

I don't blame Merry for being a bit suspicious - but he should look at the facts before jumping to conclusions. Although if Pippin doesn't realise that that gown and that necklace isn't going to make a statement, he is rather naive. I like Diamond and Rosie. Perhaps Merry needs to realise that a lass who can make friends with Rosie is the right sort of lass. I can't see Rosie having any time at all for the strumpets trying to trap Pippin at the beginning. Looking forward to more. Author Reply: There are those times that he acts a bit like Pippin and this is one of them. But he took the lad at his word regarding new lasses so it threw him a bit. Yes, as Merry finally starts to bring into the equation, Rosie likes Diamond and that's a good sign. No, Rosie would not tolerate the strumpets ;) Thank you, Bodkin, for reading this and for the insightful responses!

I love Merry in this chapter. So protective and so very the older cousin watching over things! The closet conversation was priceless! I also love Diamond and how innocent and sweet she is. This was lovely. Happy, happy, happy. More please? (Greedy, aren't I?) Author Reply: hehehe yes, you are ;) I'm striving to keep some chapters between "chapters in waiting" and the ones I'm working on so I don't when I'll post next. I'm already a bit closer than I usually like to be as I've just posted #7 and have only revised up to what is now #11. Hopefully soon though! I'm glad you liked that scene! That is thanks to my editor, Dreamflower :) She has pointed out all sorts of interesting things that I neglected in the original version - like Merry! Thank you for reading along and leaving responses, GW!

Wow...awesome chapter! I do love how Merry is observant and protective of his beloved Pippin. LOL, the "linen closet incident" was cute! I see more sublte changes here, and as I've said before, I am truly enjoying this tale. Yes, I enjoyed the original, but this is excellent! Thank you for sharing this yet again. :-) Pippinfan Author Reply: You should get a prize for fast response :) I'm glad you are enjoying the revised story :) Thank you, Pippinfan, for all your support :)
