The frustration of feeling inadequate. So close and yet so far. Now, Dwarves, it's time for you to show YOUR quality. Your writing skill is keeping me caught up in the story. Sorry it's taken so long to get back to it, but have been fighting computer woes. Author Reply: So glad to hear from you again and I cross my fingers that your computer cooperates the better with you now. *g* - T.

Poor, poor Aragorn. Terrific portrayal of misery and strength of will in this chapter, both from Aragorn's and Daevan's point of view. Stunning work. I wish I had something more coherent to say but it's late and I can't think of anything particularly witty, clever, or even interesting to say tonight. Ah, but poor Aragorn (have I said that?) being forced to drink that awful orc draught (must be like some cough syrups I've had - blehh!) and endure even more torment. Hey, we've been talking about you a little bit over on the Yahoo group (all complimentary of course). All of us Aragorn fanatics are united in our our praise of your stories. Take care and looking forward to the update. Author Reply: *cough syrup*... LOL!!! OK, so Aragorn's safe from catching a cold down there. Well, it's a start. Thanks for the ongoing discussion about my stories. Really nice to know that. - T.

I feel so sorry for poor Aragorn here. This chapter is hard to read as you depict his suffering so vividly. It must be hard for Dearvan too to be so helpless. Author Reply: Yes, Daevan did not only make a hard choice, but now has to show real strength. Living up to the demands, so to say. - T.

St. Bernard has met up with the UPS man. UPS man drank all the St. Barnard's ale, but plenty of healing supplies left. Glad to know that Strider is still hanging in there. Yeah as if he has a choice. What Daevan needs is a deversion, maybe chuck in a few fake dwarves or something. Author Reply: *big smile* Nice and very circumspect that the UPS man left the healing supplies for Aragorn! But drinking all the ale... Hell, how's he supposed to get out totally drunk? And faked Dwarves? You got an interesting point here... What might the real ones say to that? - T.

I must say that I absolutely love reading your fics. I don't think that I've left a review for any of them before though. So here we go. The quality of your stories have finally made me feel indecent to not leave one. The story seems to be progressing really well, I love your characterisation of Daevan, it's very real. He worries, he's afraid, he's unsure, things you would expect from a boy from a fishing village on his first adventure. He kind of reminded me of Vlohiri in Castle. The portrayal of Aragorn is great too. Of his strength, loyalty and perseverance. I especially liked how you showed his intentness on pursuing gollum. Anyways, I hope that Daevan will free Aragorn soon, or the dwarves (which I personally think have not betrayed Aragorn :P ) could come and launch an attack. Update soon! Author Reply: Welcome, shadowed flames! And thanks for the praise. As you might have read in my comments I like the OCs very much; they are the quintessence of every story. I hope to entertain you with further chapters as the story will take this and that turn... - T.
