Celebrian seems to be a young Thranduil :)

Hi there, I do hope you will forgive me for not reviewing in ages, this year has become hectic sinse going into matric. I hope that you have not forgotten me, I sure haven't forgotten you, I kept telling myself that I need to read your updates so that I can review, and now finally I got down to it. These last few chapters have been great and I am still impressed with the story as well as the story line. I can't believe Oropher, he seems to be more interested in treasures and stuff than even in his own cousin, if I'm mistaken please correct me, I'm so glad that you have given Thranduil much more sense because almost every other fic I read about Thranduil is that Thranduil has the same attitude about alliances and treasures and Legolas is the one with sense, no I have to disagree with that, nowadays I have just been pressing the back button if there is just a hint of something like that about Thranduil. I don't see him like that at all, I know Tolkien said he loved treasures but he didn't say anything about him being obsessed and that is why I appreciate your writing, you put him in a better light and you gave him the heart to go visit his relatives despite what his father thinks, I think he was very brave standing up against his own father for what he believes in and risking his father's wrath.
I just loved the first meeting between Thranduil and Celebrian, they both seem to have that fieriness that could either cause tension between the two or a great friendship and companionship.
I truly enjoyed reading this and I hope that you will continue to update as soon as you can because I am dying to see two certain lovebirds get married ;D.

No, I've not forgotten you. ;) Nor, contrary to all appearances, have I forgotten Thranduil. :P Beginning tomorrow, I'm going to attempt what hitherto has been impossible: weekly updates. We've got to get this show back on the road! We have a lot of ground to cover! ;)

*happy! happy!*

A short but entertaining chapter with much time having passed in the story too, I see. ;D "the five-hundreth"?! Ai, Annatar is imminent...

I like that little repart Thranduil and Celebrian shared. How it got so serious rather than staying at a teasing level, I do not know. ;) I cannot believe the lady does not know flirting when she hears it... or maybe Thranduil is too 'engaged' to do it well? Heh, it was a fun exchange!

Alway glad to see more.

I certainly hope to provide more over the next few months. I'll need something to distract myself from general mundane affairs before the awesome adventure that is the Rome semester. :)

But for now, Annatar is not the only thing that's imminent, but also my morning class and my metaphysics homework. So, I'm off to be studious now, but as always, thanks for the review! ;)

It is so good to see that Thranduil has not been relegated to the permanently long lost category.

The young inexperienced guard was a touching reminder that not all elves were ancient and wise. Likewise the reunion with the older elf and the prospect of his returning with Thranduil to the Greenwood (I hope) gives one pause as to the effect the scattering of the various peoples would have on possible reuniting of old (in years, not looks) friends.

His meetings with the feisty daughter of Galadriel promises some interesting future encounters.

No, he's just been temporarily long lost. ;) Now he has to contend with flesh-and-blood people for my attention.

Yes, hopefully Celebrian will live up to my expectations for her character. We spend several chapters in Eregion according to the original plan, so she'll have occasion for several more appearances.

Thanks for the review! ^_^ And the new ideas . . . Luinheled's character is stirring again with new possibilities . . .

*does a happy little jig* Glad to see that you're still among the living, but sorry to hear that you're so stressed. The end of the year is always the hardest part. Great addition to your narrative, if a little short (but I really can't hold that against you), your writing is a captivating as ever.

Yeah, I'm still around. ^_^ I've been so busy finishing this semester and planning for the next one that poor Thranduil has hardly had a chance to cross my mind recently. But I'll definitely look at it again over the summer now that I know my readership still exists. ^_^

*smiles* Very nice, Cori. I'm glad to see that you finally posted this. I'm also glad to see that we get to meet Lady Celebrían. :-)

Author Reply:
She features even more later, so I'm sure you'll like that even more once I finally get around to writing it. I do have copious notes for this part of the story, so it shouldn't be too bad. Of course, those seem to be my most famous last words before the longest posting breaks. ;)

So happy to see another installment of this! I really enjoyed seeing Thranduil's reunion with Amroth and his meeting with Celebrian. I hope you do have more time for writing this summer. :-)

Author Reply:
So do I. ^_^ They do know how to keep us busy around here, so as soon as I can get away I would really like to make enough headway to appease the readership while I'm out of commission next semester. ^_^

I recently found your writing. Thranduil is a favorite of mine. I like the way you portray him. Much easier to see him as the last remaining Elvenking this way, rather than having him green with blond hair (i.e. cartoon version of The Hobbit).

Hi! I'm glad you like what you're seeing so far. Yes, the little green "Thranduil" was just weird. In any case, thanks for the review, and this summer I'll try to get this project back on the road for you. ^_^

Yay! First reviewer!!! =) A very nice chapter, of course. During your long absence Thranduil has taken three months and eighteen days to get to Ost-in-Edhil—jk, jk. But it makes sense, though, considering the distance between Greenwood and the place where Celeborn resides. Well, anyways, it starts off with Thranduil and Gwaelas on their mounts riding through the city, humming a tune. You always start your chapters off with cheerfulness!!! And that’s what I like best about your stories. Nothing better than to start of with joy before all the crazy stuff happens. =/

Then, they meet that guard crouching and lurking on the road. And now why would he do that, I wonder? Then, his questioning of what Thranduil was doing at Ost-in-Edhil which you stated was clumsy probably proves that he is a new, inexperienced guard, or maybe there's something wrong with him…jk. After that, he sees his old teacher again, Luinheled. See? All joy there! =) When the prince then sees Amroth, his cousin, the first thing that Amroth says is "Thranduil, you renegade!"…Okay, not exactly how I would prefer greeting my cousin after a long while…heheh…

Celebrían is part of the world! Yipee!!! Thranduil finds her easy to recognize outside because of her silver hair, a trait that she obtained from both of her parents, only more of Celeborn because Galadriel’s hair is more golden than silver.

It turns out that the meeting between the two didn't go so well at first. Young as she may be, Celebrían has already known that some people come here because of special purposes, such as alliances, etc, etc. You can tell by her tone and what she says: "Has any particular purpose driven you here, or have you come merely to be impudent?" And she has a good vocabulary too. =) I didn't know the world impudent until I was in the fifth grade. =/

However, even the most uh, for want of a better word, ARROGANT ellyth can be charmed, as in this case. Well, I’m not calling Celebrían arrogant, but that's only until I can find a better word. Thranduil's smile must have done wonders, if that could disarm the young elleth.

Wonderful ending here. Celebrían slips her arm around the Oropherion's in a Sindarin fashion and is about to accompany him in his exploration of the city. Certainly Thranduil would not regret his journey to Eregion—after all, who would then?

A very nicely done chapter, despite the long absences and updates.

-Lady Saruman =)

P.S. I'll email you later explaining EVERYTHING that has happened over my long absence. Seriously!

P.P.S. You won't be able to update until summer break? Poo. =( Ah well, try! Or else I'll MAKE YOU. =) HAHA jk, jk.

Love,
Lady Saruman

Yes, I finally got it up! It was finished by Easter, but with all the hectivity, I actually forgot about it. o_O This semester has been almost as crazy as the last one, but for different reasons.

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I hope to entertain you again sometime before the end of May. ^_^
