| Hooray for Bilbo! And hooray for Frodo as well! Lovely championing of Tilwen here, and well deserved. Author Reply: Guess it was getting time for Bilbo to have a Moment...and I wasn't really quite expecting it just then, he merely jumped up and started proclaiming and of course I didn't even try to stop him, just silently egged him on...do characters ever get away from you at unexpected moments and act independently like that? | I'm glad Frodo has found someone to study with - I hope we can read some of his poems. I will admit to not having read Bear Me Away, but I am glad he can communicate with his Sam. Perhaps that red he sees in the glass in not anger but love? Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Frodo's first poem of merit appears (in part) in the first chapter of "Bear Me Away!" and there's a link to the entire poem at the bottom. I discovered it when I was struggling with the first chapter, which was originally a one-shot story that I ended up continuing, about the adventures of Frodo and Bilbo in the West. The idea of Frodo and Sam being separated for so long with no means of communication has long bothered me, and from time to time I've tried to set it right--and can't seem to stop doing it!:) I don't wonder if Sam is a bit angry at times, but perhaps eventually he'll get over it *grin* Thanks for commenting! hugs Armariel~~~{~@ | |

| What a total idiot Rûdharanion is! Patronising females. (Not wise. Not with someone who might have Galadriel visiting.) Patronising social inferiors. Patronising hobbits. Bet he didn't expect Frodo's reaction! An added kick on the shins would have been good to see. Perhaps Galendur should find out about the celebrated epic poet - he wouldn't mind adding a little physical pain to the elf's humiliation. Dûndeloth sounds wiser. Author Reply: Heheh...Rûdharanion may be a great poet, but his people skills are a wee bit, er, lacking...works out that way sometimes! Guess maybe he's a bit of a caricature, I probably could have done better if I hadn't had to work the weekend and made myself sick...but I hadn't done my piece for the week and had to come up with SOMEthing! (Long story--I promised over a year ago that in return for help with something-or-other, can't remember precisely, something to do with work, that I would write at least one piece per week, whether it was a poem, music piece, story or story chapter). Kick on the shin--well, maybe if Frodo had been wearing shoes, but barefooted, I'm afraid he'd have done more damage to himself than to the kickee...but maybe I'll play around with the idea in the next part, lol.... And yeah, maybe Galendur WILL find out...we'll just see! I got the name "Dûndeloth" when I put "William Shakespeare" through the elf-name generator...haha! ~~~{~@ | |
