| Oh, that was PRICELESS!! However much Pippin and his sisters might tease or torment each other, it does NOT pay for an outsider to tackle them! I loved Pervinca's gleeful counting to twenty each time, ROFL! And finally, dunking her rear end in the water and then marching her into the middle of the dance floor? No doubt in the minds of anyone there that she had gotten on the wrong side of the Took lasses, and no more than she deserved, the wretched little witch! | Oh, the Terrible Took Sisters to the rescue--yeay! What a sour persimmone! LOL, she got hers, though. Pearl should've let him go with the sword, lol. | I love Pippin's sisters in this. I also liked how frustrated Pippin was that he couldn't do anything himself since she was a lass. Very funny chapter. I do feel sorry for Diamond but it looks as if she has the Took sisters in her corner now and so I am guessing she will be fine. | It's a sad shame that Diamond's memory of that ball, where she first danced with Pippin, will be ruined by the recollection of Persimmone's treachery and her subsequent behaviour. Not to mention hearing later of the Took sisters' suitable, but very public, vengeance. She will be squirming. On the other hand, the Three Sisters have certainly shown which of the two girls has their approval. And Sam and Rosie will be mad as fire with the Bolger lass. And Pippin's protectionism has just been ratched up another couple of dozen notches. Still. She'll probably be too embarrassed to enjoy Persimmone's humiliation properly - and she'll never be able to enjoy that dress properly... Author Reply: I don't know that I've thought too much about how much might ruin Diamond's memories of that night. There always seems to be a lot that I don't think of that readers do. We'll have to see what you think of how it all pans out. :) Yes, the sisters know a nasty bit of goods when they see it ;) And it is one more thing showing Pippin (and Merry) that Diamond is a different sort of lass.
