| 'Over Pippin’s dirty fist, bulging brown eyes set in a doleful green face regarded Paladin Took with resignation. It was a frog’s lot in life, their expression seemed to say, to be caught by mischievous young lads.' By the time I reached this line I was giggling like a fool - when I reached Bilbo's last line I was almost on the floor! This was so funny - I love Pippin's logic, and Sam's response to Pip's request surprised me. Poor old Bilbo - and what will Gaffer Gamgee say? Author Reply: *grins* I'm so glad it made you laugh. Sam's response seemed natural to me, in part because I was thinking of the Barrow Downs, and how comfortable the hobbits were with running naked on the grass! I certainly hope the Gaffer was down at the Ivy Bush with his cronies having a good gossip and a couple of beers, and so missed the whole thing :)) | |

| LOL!!! That story was crazy - having 2 boys similar to Pip, I can fully appreciate his parents resignation to the loss of clothes to dirt and loss of clean organization. The way Pip's logic infects the others is downright smooth - It definitely gave me a smile and a laugh on a rather tiring morning! Author Reply: I'm very glad it gave you a smile and a laugh.
