Oh, poor dear! I can't even imagine how horrible that would be. But I'm so glad Esme was there and that Bilbo came up with the letter-writing to help to dispell the melancholy. This was very touching and sweet. God bless, Galadriel Author Reply: Thank you. It must have been torture at times for the young hobbit to have to go through life, always seeing what he could never have again & being constantly reminded of his parents & the life he should have had. Another reviewer called it "telling the other side." You will definitely be seeing more bittersweet Frodo in some of my other fics that I'm still working on or polishing up. I've found that I often have a knack for writing a bittersweet Frodo during such situations. This story was inspired by some of my own experiences & losses--just as Bilbo encourages Frodo to write, I too write through Frodo. This one was a tough one for me to read as I, too, lost my Mom three years ago.It reflected how I feel every Mother's day, as well as my other siblings, something Frodo didn't have to lean on. Thanks for giving the "other side" of this holiday. Author Reply: I'm sorry about your Mom. I lost my grandmother six years ago, right before Easter & Mother's Day ... she was the dearest, sweetest, most loving person I've ever known & I miss her terribly. As I'm sure you're well aware, it always hurts more around holidays. Sometimes it's hard to be 100% happy when you still feel like a part of you is missing even years later ... I often like to explore this theme with Frodo during his younger years. Namarie, ~Elemmírë~

Ohhh, how sweet and bittersweet! Dear Frodo, having to go through so much at such a young age. But always surrounded by love. Author Reply: Hobbits are very family-oriented creatures & also very loving. Whatever he may face, Frodo will always be surrounded by love ... whether he realizes it or not. Thank you for reading & reviewing, Shirebound. I'm very much looking forward to your next fic as well (hint, hint). :) ~Elemmírë~
