Going Home  by Antane 4 Review(s)
Queen GaladrielReviewed Chapter: 2 on 5/21/2006
Oh, this is so sweet and lovely and...Bother, I don't know the word. Is Quenya more expressive than English? :)

Sam smiled as he fingered the elegant writing. "No, dear, it wasn’t a dream," he murmured. "I’ll wait for you, but I’ll be making you breakfast. It’s been
far too long since I’ve been able to do that."

Awww, that is precious. Heehee! Frodo should have known that would be Sam's reaction!

Small hands drew him into an embrace and the younger hobbit wept for his former master in his brother’s arms. Frodo held him for a long time, stroked his
curls and murmured what comforts he could. "It’s all right, my Sam, it’s all right. Ilya vanima."

*hugs them both* Oh, poor Sam never really grieved for Bilbo before, and now it's comming out. I'm so glad Frodo can comfort him. Again, another proof that he has really and truly healed.

Frodo smiled at the firm tone and stubborn stance. Sam had crossed his arms and planted his feet slightly apart as he did whenever he wanted to out-stubborn
a particular Baggins, which made that particular Baggins rise to the challenge. "You let me make it for you yesterday."

Oh, I just adore this whole scene and laughed with joy to see them once more arguing in that loving way! Really, those are the best arguments to have, even when you lose--which I *always* do! :)

They sat quietly for a long while. When Gandalf entered later, he saw from the light outside that Frodo had fallen asleep, his head resting in Sam’s lap,
a large smile on his lips. Sam was slowly stroking his brother’s back, a look of joy and tender love shining from his face. Both hobbits were glowing from
within. The Maia smiled that at long last these two like souls had been finally reunited.

I love seeing Frodo beginning to teach Sam of Iluvatar's love and grace, and the scene at the end with Gandalf is just so tender and beautiful and gentle.

Keep it coming, mell nin, it just gets better!
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Wow! What a review! And thanks for liking the part with Gandalf and the hobbity love there, esp. I hope also there are more 'arguments' coming! :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane

Oh! Lovely! I love how Frodo explained Iluvitar to Sam and Sam's prayer. Its so easy to see where Tolkien would be going with that since we share his faith. (Well, I'm Christian, not Catholic, but it's nearly the same, and really encouraging) You pulled this off wonderfully!
God bless,
Ellie

Author Reply: Hannon le, Elanor!

Yes, the air there would be rich in that breath.
