Well, finally Faramir believes Arwen. That's a hopeful sign and at least it sounds like a good plan, though I worry that he won't be able to fool those evil men long enough to find Aragorn. Maybe Imrahil can help him, though I'm not sure if he is in the city or not. Maybe Eomer will come! :) Looking forward to the next chapter. Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.Faramir will have a long and lonely road to walk now.Eomer will turn up eventually. Hello, Linda! You absolutely LOVE leaving off chapters with cliffys, don't you? Well in any case I cannot understand why Faramir would suddenly yelp and clutch his shoulder. I wonder....You know, I understand this story a lot more when you use the phrases like "House of Hurin". At first I didn't understand it because I know little about the first and second ages without the books. But since on Saturday I went to a bookstore and bought the book "Unfinished Tales", which explains a lot, I now understand this story with more death and I don't have to pass the words with a puzzled mind. Faramir really is a weird person. He still believes that Aragorn is dead no matter what. And so, he assumes that Arwen's bloodcurdling screams are ones of grief and as you put it, "she had finally comprehended the cruel truth that she was a widow." I really can't imagine Arwen being a widow, try as I might, even when in the year 120 of the fourth age she really does become one. It just seems improbable...I don't know, like a weird feeling.... Arwen and Faramir's special Thought Bond that they share with Aragorn has caused them to have the same dream, (now vision, since Arwen's been trying to tell Faramir that these "dreams" are visions that are actually happening.) I think the king expects both his wife and his Steward to help save him. Perhaps he needs both of them in order to save his life. Perhaps one cannot do without the other...or maybe only that both of them have dreams because they are the only two who share the Thought Bond with him...see, there really is many varying possiblities once you put your thought upon that matter. I will continue later, since I have class now. -Lady Saruman Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I hope that cliffhangers will encourage my readers to read the next chapter. Do you know the story of the Arabaian Nights? I think they were the earliest cliffhanger stories. Faramir finds it hard to believe Aragorn could be alive after having seen what he thought was his body. Don't be afraid to ask me anything you don't know, though I hope that "Unfinished Tales" will help. Yes, you guess rightly about the Thought Bond.

Arwen set this up!!!!!! Why on earth can't she tell Aragorn that Faramir isn't a traitor! He should be rewarded for all the agony he has gone through, not be expecting a traitor's death!! Oh. Sorry. Jumping ahead somewhat. Faramir isn't going to find the whole deception part of this easy. Oil and water. But he has the courage to do what he must - and feeling Aragorn's torment must keep him on track. Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. Arwen does tell Aragorn eventually it was all her plan, but she never envisaged just how far Faramir would be drawn into "The Web of Treason" and how well he would play the part. Of course, Faramir deserves reward, but life can be very unfair.Poor, honest Faramir who hates to even deceive orcs.
