| I agree with Gimli! "Spare me Elf!" I wish all my white hair can fall off my head and have dark ones sprout in their stead come spring time! No gouts yet and no arthritis yet (knock on wood!)--unlike poor Gimli. "Spare me Elf!" This story brought a smile to my face! Author Reply: As for me, no gout, but arthritis, yes, and a bunch more nasty nuisances of aging. Sometimes I just get irritated with those Elves, and it was fun to put that feeling into Gimli's POV. | |

| Oh, Legolas, they WILL come back again! Unlike white-bearded dwarves and mortal kings and fey hobbits. Author Reply: I think that part of the Elves' problem is that they don't really differentiate. All things and creature "pass." As a mortal, I find it hard to sympathize. | |
