| Well. Maybe Rûdharanion does have a glimmer of sense. But it's very small. I rather like the idea of Galendur giving him enough time to train before beating him round the ring. And I'm glad Frodo didn't weaken. Author Reply: There's more to everyone than meets the eye--and ear--I'm sure. And of course it's not much fun playing somebody we know stands no chance of beating our socks off, what? *g* Yes, I liked the idea of him giving him time to train, procuring the proper instruction for him, not telling anyone what the fight is about, and executing the match publicly. I dare say Rûdharanion wouldn't have done as much, had the shoe been on the other foot. And of course Frodo wouldn't give in--he's a Baggins, after all! *ggg* ~~~{~@ | |

| Good enough, that wisdom comes to him at the last. He certainly needs it. And the sparring may indeed be the redemption he needs. Author Reply: Yes, as I was just telling Queen Galadriel, the match may be what he needs to force him to confront the physicality of his being and pull him down from the rafters, into which he has ascended so high he has lost sight of the nature of truth. | Ah, I said I wanted to give Rudharanion a nickname and would refrain out of politeness, but now I refrain out of pity. I do pity him. I can't exactly say why, for he reminds me of Saruman, but I hope he reaches the light. If only he could, he might become great, truly great. But I'm a little afraid for him in this sparring match. Not that Galendur would tear him to bits or anything, but he does seem really worked up. How like Frodo to take the papers with such respect. And I can bet he'll read them with as much, even if it is untrue. God bless, Galadriel Author Reply: Yes, I hope so too! I dare say Rudharanion also needs Galendur to pull him out of the rafters--he has gotten up there so high he has lost sight of what is real and true, so obsessed with his own visions that he believes them the only reality and can no longer distinguish between truth and lies anymore. Maybe the match will bring him down to earth and force him to confront the physical aspects of truth as well.
