Oh dear, what a terrible mess - and what a wonderful tale (even if it is not the irst time that I tell you this). And my fingers are itching to giving it a try in translation... but right now I still have to take care of that d... arm and can make no promises. *sigh* But I enjoy this very, very much!

oh wow--managed to take Frodo in the bathroom! how dare they! :angry look: And i love your hobbit dialogue and the humor when they all got into a hobbit pile. :) And the last part about leaving Sam behind made me sad... :( but i understand Merry's reasons though. :) ::hurries fro more:: Author Reply: Hi, Periantari! It does seem extremely despictable to kidnap the poor hobbit in the privy. I had some precedence for that ... Lily Baggins wrote a delightful story starting out like that, so I can blame the idea on her. Unfortunately, I do have to take the blame for all the hobbit-torture coming up... ;)

Oh, Frodo! Alas, they got him anyway. The thump was the giveaway, of course! Now, to find him again, and quickly. His first decent meal, and then the crash by Sam, the scaring of the man with the mushrooms (poor guy--yes, indeed he must think they're nuts!), and then hearing of a plot to take him--I don't blame Frodo for getting sick! Then to be taken anyway, and in such an ignomious position as losing his meal! Find them, lads! Author Reply: Ah, Larner my friend, did you think 'they' wouldn't get him? *giggle* This chapter was so much fun to plot. I think one of the most enjoyable things about writing is coming up with an idea, then making it feasible. Of course, sometimes we have to stretch our imaginations and read with a forgiving eye. What could possibly be more fun than a good romp through Middle-earth?

Oh, poor Sam! I understand Merry's reasons, but to not be allowed to search for his master is a terrible punishment for Sam. And poor Frodo. As if going through the Quest wasn't bad enough, now he's been hobbitnapped. Though I think his captors will find that he is not such easy prey. He at least won't be easily intimidated. Author Reply: Ooohhhh, words of prophecy, GamgeeFest! I think you must have been peeking over my shoulder when I was writing Chapter Six! Your comment about Sam not being allowed to go with Merry & Pip gave me pause ... I hadn't looked at it like a punishment. Yet Sam would probably feel that way, even though he knew Merry had his best interests at heart. Intriguing comment, and food for thought!

Oh my God! Somehow I have the feeling that Frodo is in no condition to answer their calls right now! Fortunately the little girl showed them right track. But what about Frodo? How is he faring? Oh my, you are really the master of cliffhangers ;-) I loved your Merry in this chapter, particularly this: “No, Sam. You’re not so long out of the Houses of Healing yourself. Frodo—and Aragorn and Gandalf and Elrond—would have my head if I let you hurt yourself.” That's my Merry, indeed - and he's absolutely right, about Sam's condition and the possible reactions of Gandalf, Elrond, Aragorn and Frodo! Be patient Sam, they all are doing their best! Author Reply: You know, Andrea, the hardest part of writing a cliffhanger is cutting back and forth between the action when you separate the kidnapped/lost/missing/whatever Frodo from his friends. And possibly the best part (besides driving people nuts) is getting to see the actions from all the different characters' heads. Merry is especially fun to do this with, because he's rather an atypical hobbit. More Merry to come!

*groan* Oh, no! This is terrible! Frodo's been taken, and now these rapscallions are going to lead them all a terribly trying life of it trying to find him, and then they're going to be confronted with the nameless fear *shudder*. I guess everything will come out all right in the end, but I can't imagine how. You know, I've thought lately about doing a story as full of cliff-hangers as possible, dedicated especially to all those who are so *good* at them, but I'm beginning to have second thoughts. Do I really have the heart to do this to people? *grin* That poor man, I hope they find him and can apologize. Merry and Pippin *were* too hasty. You never cease to amaze me with the creative ways in which these kidnappers manage to get their prey, or how you resolve the story and leave us satisfied in the end. I'm remembering the latter, and that is what's keeping me from going insane. :) Please, please, update soon!! God bless, Galadriel Author Reply: Ah, your majesty, how right you are! I had to laugh about your comment "lead them a terriby trying life" when writing Chapter Six. It's such a pleasure to see Frodo getting a little revenge... I hope you DO write that cliffhanger story! The world needs more anxiety, tension, anticipation, and pure, pure fun.
