| I'm going back now to comment where I've finally managed to catch up--computer woes, as you know yourself, can really get a person behind on things! I loved the way Sam seemed to vibrate with anticipation as the end of the journey drew near, repeating "Oh my Frodo!" over and over--just beautiful! And the greetings were all that I could have hoped for. Dear old Sam, finally he has reached his goal! | |

| Lovely reunions. I love Frodo's fear that Sam might not be able to see him as he is now - but he needn't have worried. Sam might have remained behind, but he is also pared down to the bone and his sight remains as clear as ever. It won't be long before they leave the Isle, though. Author Reply: So glad you, too, appreciated the reunions. And I suspect that when she agreed to bring the phial Galadriel had a gentle smile on her face, humoring Frodo for his anxiety, and knowing it wasn't truly needed after all. And, no, the two of them won't linger especially long. Thanks for the feedback. Hope to get the computer back again so once more I can begin catching up. Having to borrow computer time elsewhere all the time is frustrating. | |

| Oh, that was so beautiful it made me cry! Oh, so many joyful reunions, and all so very sweet...Sam's and Celeborn's eagerness was very characteristically portrayed, and Galadriel's greeting as well. Oh, I just don't know what to say, except this was worth all the anticipation that led up to it and more, and it really has brightened my day. These last few weeks have been pretty rough, and for the past several days I feel as if I've done nothing but wipe my eyes and be silly and sentimental, and it feels so wonderful to shed happy tears! :) Hannon le! That you find the eagerness properly portrayed is reassuring; and Galadriel must have found her reunion with her husband marvelous, and particularly satisfying as she watched that between Celeborn and Celebrian. It has been quite a long time since those two saw one another, after all. And am glad that this time the tears are happy ones. | |

| Ah! This was absolutely perfect, larner. I felt as though I was there, watching all those wonderful reunions, and that one in particular was worth the long wait. The description of their Lights blending and flaring was exquisite. Intended to review before this - the birthday celebrations (mine, not Sam's) look set to go on for a while yet! Sorry to be belated in my own responses, but again am without a computer, so have to get on when I can, which isn't as often as I'd like. | At last Sam set his bare right foot down on the white stone of the pier’s surface, felt its coolness under him, felt the joy it radiated, the reassurance of welcome. What a glorious, joyous, love-filled 'homecoming'. Very beautiful, Larner. And I have to smile at the notion that Sam would recognize the Light in everyone -- except for himself. Author Reply: So very glad you loved that particular image, Shirebound. Yes, wherever Frodo is, Sam feels at home, and Frodo feels fulfilled because Sam is there by him at long last. And we so rarely appreciate out own true strong points, so of course Sam will see the Light in all but himself! So glad you felt that was appropriate. | |

| And he turned to her right, saw the slight figure that was now almost pure Light of Being that stood there, worried he might not be seen and recognized, saw and recognized the anxiety. “Oh, Frodo--do you truly think as I’d not recognize you no matter what you might of come to? Oh, my Frodo!” Oh Larner, that was so beautiful! I'm quite sure that the growing excitement was not only felt by those on the ship and those awaiting them, but also by all who read this chapter. Well done, indeed! Author Reply: Thank you, Andrea, for such feedback. Yes, there must have been a great deal of anticipation in those arriving and those waiting for them; and Sam must have been in a true dither until that last moment, when he realized just what had been worrying Frodo and how insignificant the reason for it was. | Oh Yes! Just what we have all been waiting for and truly beautiful writing. How could I possibly choose a best bit? And you certainly got me hovering on the edge of my seat by describing all those other wonderful re-unions first! I think I caught one typo: “When we were under weigh (way?) Sorry to hear you are having dog troubles. Thoughts and prayers winging your way! Author Reply: So glad that I was able to build up the tension properly with the other reunions first, making that between Frodo and Sam that more poignant, although I found the one between Celeborn and Celebrian to be the one I found I myself appreciated best. You are right--had been reading a story about a sea voyage and weighing anchors and let the wrong "way" slip in there. Will correct that. As for the problems with the dog--I'll have to write offline about that, once the computer is finally back home. A tragic story. Thanks for the prayers--I need them, believe me. | |

| This is absolutely one of the most beautiful descriptions of Frodo & Sam meeting again in the West that I've read. The way you described their lights was breathtaking ... just everything was described in such detail, I felt as if I were standing there at the pier too. >>he’d been advised to bring only those things that served to lift his own spirits--well, what would lift his own spirits was already there, on that island, waiting for him. And so what he’d brought had been intended mostly to lift the spirits there<< Those lines are so sweet & thoughtful--just like Sam. I think he'll find Frodo's spirits much lifted since he saw him last, & now complete with the arrival of his best friend. I also like how you point out that Celebrian is reunited with her parents, as many other fics tend to concentrate more on her reunion with Elrond. Hope you post more soon! Author Reply: It's been a few days since I posted, but my computer still isn't back yet. Hope it's not been too long a wait. I'd never truly pictured Elrond's reunion with his wife; but with the beautiful descriptions I've read recently of Celebrian's wounding and the decision to send her to Tol Eressea I truly felt that for Celeborn this reunion must have been almost overwhelming in nature, seeing his daughter once again at the height of joy rather than as he saw her last, depleted and incapable of proper joy. | |
