| oops. I seem to have run a bit of two and three together. It is fun in this one to see the older cousin marshalling his troops for a search. As I said before, Sam and his sisters are always well-behaved, indeed,"well-brought up". I liked the Gaffer's voice in Sam's head, telling him to watch how he talks. Indeed, they will need at least Frodo's help to deal with Lobelia, if not Eglantine's. I would like to see what Lotho has to say when his mother tells him she intends to adopt the little one. For that matter,I would like th see what Paladin and the Grandpa, the Thain, have to say about that! this is getting good! | |

| Darn, no time to read even ch 2, so this isn't a real review at all, just an administrative note. The MEFA awards accept incomplete works, so you don't have to hurry to finish this before the deadline if you don't have the time or inclination. It can be entered as a WIP this year, and if you finish it before reading/voting season ends the status can be changed to "complete", I think, and if not, it can compete as a WIP this year and a finished work whenever it gets finished. The big deadline is that you have to respond to the email saying it has been nominated (check your spam filter, or email me if you don't hear anything from MEFA), and you have to finalize the story details at the MEFA site (story length, genre, main characters, that sort of thing--you have two other stories nominated there, so if you've finalized them you know what I mean, and if you haven't, you need to, and soon, as you only have about another week to do that). Whew. Does that make sense? Author Reply: Perfect sense:o) It's actually finished, I just can't resist the urge to tinker with it a bit, so it's nice to know I have plenty of time for that.
