| Yes, our Frodo is indeed a peace-maker. And his peace-making brings its rewards. And his heart's desire comes closer. Love the horn for the child. May it give him centuries of joy. Author Reply: To make peace is to find it. (Or did Frodo himself say something like that?) And to find it will lead him to his heart's desire. And I think Dínlad even takes the horn to bed with him at night! | |

| "You...you...chamber pot!" LOL! Don't know why I love this insult so much but it's so cute and innocent and truly I'm sure the worst thing that child could think of. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Compared to some of the things kids called each other when I was young--let along what they call each other nowadays--the epithet "chamber pot" does seem rather mild, yes? heheh ~~~{~@ | |

| Rûdharanion almost seems to be finding this change of role a bit of a relief - even if he still does feel the need to make a show of himself. Still, he's listening to advice on how to win Aredhel's heart - and listening is always a good thing. Dinlad can be a little pest - but he does seem to need a friend. He's one of those who feels that any attention is better than none, it seems. Mind you, encouraging the dog to damage little Bag End isn't very kind (but he is a brother - what do you expect!) Providing him with a horn - and a better interest (and more positive attention) can only be a good thing! The charm bracelets sound pretty, too. Frodo is making an impression on the youth of the Island! Author Reply: Yes, listening is the first step, and he has taken that...and I believe he sincerely wishes to please both Frodo and Aredhel, and must try and forget himself in order to do so. Funny, every time I think I've had done with him and try to dismiss him, he keeps popping up again! But sometimes characters have minds of their own.... I suspect Dinlad has been a bit jealous of the attention Frodo pays to the girls--never mind that they earned it and he did not--hence allowing the dog to mess up their hobbit-hole. But yes, I'd say he is in need of some positive attention, even if he hasn't deserved it, and Frodo looks beyond the faults and sees the need, as a savior's job is to do. Still, I doubt the boy is going to turn into a little saint overnight! (yes, he IS a brother, after all, and therefore feels the need to be a royal pain in the tukas!) But, it's a start. And I dare say he's been turned in the right direction. ~~~{~@ | |
