| Poor Arathorn, that has to be the hardest part about being in charge, to have to tell the loved ones what happened. What to tell and what not to tell. Little does he know but soon he will be out of time. Good story. Author Reply: Thanks grumpy! Maybe short-lived, butyeah, you are right. | A sad, evocative vignette. We don't get enough stories with Arathorn, and this one fleshes him out excellently in relatively few words. And it's all the more poignant because of the time we know that he isn't going to get with his only child. Author Reply: This vignette needed to get out of my system since I am working on a Arathorn/Gilraen story too (which is more romantic of nature). When I read the challenge, I knew I had to write him. And yes I agree with you, the number of Arathorn stories is amazingly low. So maybe it is about time he gets some more story time. Thank you so much for the review Raksha, it means a lot to me. | |

| This is just heartrending, knowing what will soon happen to Arathorn.Very well written. Author Reply: Thanks Linda! For us as a reader (or writer) it so poignant to know that his life will be short. But I cannot imagine Arathorn remaining at Rivendell you know. Although he was a chieftain for a very short time, he was a leader and I tried to portray that here as well. Thanks again for the review, it made me smile all day (and even now)! | |
