Going Home  by Antane 4 Review(s)
AmfortasReviewed Chapter: 20 on 4/12/2014
The chapter before was very sad, but the end is actually the best that could ever have been. Frodo has been so blessed, surrounded by so much love and being healed in the end. What a wonderful end to the series. I've enjoyed reading it all.

Author Reply: Thank you so much, Amfortas! I am glad you enjoyed it all. *hugs* :)

A perfect description of what I see heaven to be. We receive our Creator's light and love through others but, throughout life, we must be open to the relationship and friendship that 'He' wants to build with us alone.

Funnily enough I have just spent a day at a conference at a Benedictine Abbey. The Abbot gave the Keynote address and told us how he wanted to spend his last 10 breaths talking to God as if he were on his telephone to his best friend; sharing the news, making up after an argument and thanking him for all the wonderful things that he had been given that day. He said that he expected to be continuing the conversation right past his last breath; just more directly. Nothing would change in the relationship; it would just get even better.

I have read your notes in the next chapter and admire you for being so open and honest about your faith. Your journey, while being entirely YOUR journey, mirrors my own in many ways. I, too, was brought up as a Catholic. When I was in my teens I made the decision that, after looking around, my faith-home was still in the Church I had grown up in. I wished I could have been Confirmed at that point rather than a number of years earlier when I didn't appreciate it. But then I would not have had the Spirit helping me to grow in my faith to the point where I owned it in quite the same way.

Good on you for making one on one time and enjoy the journey!
God Bless

Author Reply: Hantanyel, harrowcat for this and all your support. You are in my daily prayers. I certainly didn't expect to be on this journey, but I'm glad. It's just more proof that the professor had to be inspired by the Author of the Story to reach so many people so deeply. I love the idea of the conversation just continuing.

Oh, I'm speechless! That was an absolutely perfect chapter! That last sentance is SO perfect! I can't wait to hear that myself someday.
God bless,

aww ... is it over now? nooo! :(
Very very good and sweet and kinda sad, Antane.
I was never a big fan of the idea that Frodo and Sam would eventually die in Valinor cuz I just couldn't stand to see them die, but you did it very well and I was glad they got to go together :)
I like the Biblical reference at the end: "well done good and faithful servant" - so true of Frodo and Sam!
I loved it as always!
God bless,

Author Reply: Hantanyel - so glad you enjoyed! I wanted to give Frodo and Sam a very beautiful, peaceful death as I hope they had. I like my last sentence too. :)
