To feel he belongs where he is would become somewhat difficult as Aragorn aged and became increasinly aware of just how different he was from those surrounding him. Glad Elrond is trying to give the young one a sense of belonging and ties to the mortal world to which he truly belonged.
Author Reply: Elrond knew how important it was that Estel feel safe and loved in his family, but also that he know at least something about the world he would join one day; the world of men. And I love writing heart-warming family moments, so this was fun for me. :) |
