I can see clearly just how Aragorn would wish to have these "average days" a thing of the past! And your battle was decently written--love Aragorn's thrown knife.

As would most forced into the warrior's life who'd rather raise their families in peace.

The odds are not on surviving too many average days like that. And when you compare the number of orcs to the number of Rangers, it's only surprising that there were any to follow Aragorn south! Author Reply: Hmm, yes; good thing that the Rangers are much better fighters in most cases!

The threat of the shadow must have seemed ever-present, while they could only dream of having peace and security someday. What an impossible dream it must have seemed at times. Very thought-provoking, Suvi. Author Reply: Thanks, meckinock. I'm pretty sure I could never survive that myself, which makes the Dunedain even more admirable. Thanks for the review.

That's a very interesting conversation. Aragorn spent so many years just traveling, fighting, and thinking... It's amazing he was as patient as he was with the slow passage of the years, when nothing *did* seem to be changing for the better. Author Reply: Yea, I myself would have never been able to do it. That is one quality of Aragorn that I really admire, the fact that he never gave up.
