| I just discovered this story and am now eagerly waiting for the next installment. An original idea for a story--it never occurred to me to wonder about the fate of those hapless beacon guards in the movie. Tolkien's characters are well-written, and I like Tarannon and the other original characters (well, except for Castamir, but he met his just desserts). Good for the healers to treat an injured man regardless of his perceived crimes. (And, no, I don't think the military authorities would try to take him from the Houses by force; soldiers are too often in the care of the healers themselves to want to incur their ire!) But poor Tarannon trying to cut away his hand and the offending mark! I liked the scene with Gandalf a great deal--how the grass felt so blessed to Tarannon after a month in confinement, and how Gandalf offered an apology and an explanation for his oversight. Exciting and well-written story! More soon, please! | This is a good chapter. I don't think the Gandalf you have depicted here is "defeated", though I can understand how some would think that of movie-verse Gandalf sometimes. He is troubled, for he was unwittingly the cause of someone suffering an injustice--but he is compassionate as well. I like the way you showed Tarannon so eager for sight of the sky, and of having a window--very realistic. And Pippin was very well portrayed! | I love this story so much! Your characterization is extremely good for the movie version Gandalf; so don't worry about that. Please update soon. I get just so exicted every time that you do! Author Reply: Thanks. I was rather worried about how he would turn out. I'm glad he's okay. I should update sometime next month, depending on how school treats me. :) | |
