Conquistadora! I have dedicated myself to reading Books 1 & 2. I am now continuing with 3. All I can say is Wow. The scope and scale of this is truly magnificent. The last chapters have been devastating but brilliantly written!! This review is inadequate to convey how much I love this story. MM. Author Reply: Thanks! I'm just sorry it takes me soooooo long to post updates, but I promise there are lots of plans. So glad you're enjoying it! :D

Wonderful loyalty of Thranduil's army. Wonder if he was really summoned somehow by Sauron to show him his losses.

I enjoyed closing my eyes and imagining the whole series of events. Your prose is so incredibly vivid and lush that it's easy to let yourself float away into the story. Thank you so much for sharing. Author Reply: You are very welcome. :)

It's december! I hope you had a good semester but now it's time to update, please! Author Reply: It certainly is. Last semester was awesome, but with very little time to spare! I've been back for almost two weeks already, but I've been disappointed with my progress so far (or lack thereof). I have started the first installment, and hope to have it post-worthy within the next few days, especially since I've taken care of most Christmas shopping and wrapping, as well as many other demanding projects. Things are finally settling down, and not a minute too soon. So, stand by, the Third Age is set to begin any time now! ;) It's nice to know I still have people waiting for me!

Hi, I'm truly impressed with this story and the way it ended, very good indeed. I must apologise for not reviewing as often as I should have. There is so much to talk about in the last number of chapters, I'm just glad that Thranduil could work things out with Lindoriel before he went, it would've been tragic if he departed on such bitter terms. Did you have to kill Celebrin off? He was a character that still had so much life in him but I suppose it is all part of the plot. I am dying to start reading the next story I'm guessing that it is going to be mainly about Thranduil's new role as king, husband and father, I'm only hazarding a guess, I may very well be wrong. I truly enjoyed the chapters since I last reviewed. There was so much action and angst happening that I couldn't stop reading, especially with Annatar and the inevitable war that took place. I just have one question. Wasn't Gil-Galad supposed to be dead in the last alliance and Elrond succeeded him in becoming lord of Imladris and bearing the ring, Vilya or has the war not ended yet, that could be it, I am such a dunce, I'm thinking with all the events happening and discussions of going home I wasn't thinking that the war was still happening, duh(smacks self on the head). You must please forgive my shallowness despite being a brunette. This story has truly been great and I thank you for writing and writing it with such precision and detail that many fail to neglect (points to self). I'm sure that I won't be disappointed in the next one and I am highly looking forward to it. Till next time Author Reply: Thank you! :) I'm looking forward to the next part, too. In fact, I've often been tempted to start it over here, but time does not allow. Homework; what can you do? ;) Meanwhile, I'm having an awesome time in Rome. We saw and touched Pope Benedict yesterday!!! And the literary plans continue . . .

Wonderful quote! And those last paragraphs. So elequent about Thranduil's innermost nature. For all his fear, he would endure the grief and will channel his fury as best he might. As many times before, Thranduil might seem to waver at a challenge. But given any strength, he will face it and act - more dangerous than wise. Maybe when he gets back home, that will include Lindoriel's challenge, as well. So, this part of the tale is ended? Well, it was lovely to follow along with this prince and his family once again. I look forward to rejoining them in the future.

Poor Thranduil. You describe his agonising pain so well, as well as his mental anguish over his father's death, and his feelings of inadequacy in taking over the kingship. The last few chapters were almost too painful to read. It seems typical of how I imagine him that he ignores his healers' advice and gets up far too soon - and eventually, despite his detemination, collapses. It's probably the best thing for him. :( Jay Author Reply: Yes, he tends to do that. From one extreme to the other . . . Fortunately, I wrote a great deal of these notes beforehand. I usually have a fetish for writing about the painful and depressing, but this last week I felt completely uninspired. I blame stress, but there it is. Anyhow, it's a great feeling to have finally pulled it off. :)

Well...if Sauron is hard to kill, then I guess Thranduil is darn near indestructable, 'cause he's still kick'n when Sauron finally goes down. Hah! Sauron didn't count on the people of the Wood being so completely and absolutly stubborn. I really loved the last three chapters. They're so vivid, and so sad. But they also convey the iron will and determination that will keep Thranduil and his family going through the ages. It's a great set up for Book III. Have fun in Rome, and I look forward to hearing of you again in December. Until then, Paux Romama, Paux Christi. Author Reply: Pax tecum. ;) Thanks, I know it will be great. That is, so long as I manage to get away without being strip-searched at the airport. :P
