What a lovely story this is. I especially like the way Aragorn reassures Merry. :) Author Reply: Thanks very much! I'm so glad you enjoyed - especially that bit, which I remember being the most difficult to write :)

Great story, I enjoyed it a lot. Loved the conversation between Aragorn and Merry. Had to laugh at Aragorn's comment about a mother's wrath. Author Reply: Thanks very much! I'm so glad you enjoyed. I thought that even Aragorn would have been the target of a mother's wrath at some point :)

awesome story~ i read this twice and now know how to leave a proper review. :) Pippin is strong and hale, and will represent the Shire-folk. Do not dampen his spirits when such a daunting task lies before him. Your cousin looks to you for support and approval." For a long while Aragorn fell silent but at last he added, "Some may call it a desperate attempt, a foolish one. But if we draw Sauron’s eye away from what he seeks and buy Frodo some precious time…" So true-- Aragorn's words are very wise in this and i'm glad he has some words for comfort for Merry before he has to separate from Pippin. I love Merry angsty-ish stories and i love these gap-filler moments like these because i think the extra scene of Aragorn being there is special and we dont' get many Merry and Aragorn moments. But with one look at Merry's face Pippin smiled, abandoning the tray on the bedside table and leaping onto the bed to pull his cousin into a hug. That made me "awww" so much. :) Cousin-y love! Lovely, ST~ good work. :) Author Reply: Thank you, dear. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! :) I'm glad you appreciated the scene between Aragorn and Merry. You're right, we hardly see any interaction between them, and I wanted to explore their friendship because so much of my focus is on relationships between the hobbits, and yet so many wonderful friendships grew out of the Fellowship. This was my chance to explore one of them...hopefully I will write more someday involving other characters :)

Well you are a hobbit... Cute! Lovely story. How hard it must have been for Merry to be left behind. Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Thanks very much! I'm so glad you enjoyed. I agree, it must have been a terrible time for Merry, and he must have been so grateful for any little comfort he was able to receive from his friends.

What a great look at such a difficult moment. Merry's nightmares/visions were awful for him. I love Aragorn's comments about a mother's wrath! Author Reply: For some reason, I like giving Merry nightmares more than any other hobbit. I think it's because of the Black Breath (or maybe I'm just really mean!). I'm so glad you enjoyed this. I imagine it was a very difficult time for Merry and I wanted to show that. Thanks for reading! :)

What a lovely gap-filler! I loved Merry's unease at Pippin's unspoken news, and the way Pippin could read Merry's heart, without his cousin having to say much of anything. I loved the talk between Strider and Merry, and his practical: You are a hobbit, after all! *g* What a frightening dream, indeed, as if Merry were a ghost, returning to haunt his home. Yikes! Author Reply: I think that Merry and Pippin were so close that they didn't need words all the time; sometimes they just knew. I'm so glad you enjoyed that bit, as well as Aragorn and Merry's conversation. I usually focus so much on relationships between the hobbits, but this time I realy wanted to branch out to a hobbit's friendship with another member of the Fellowship. Thanks so much for reading! :)
