Too bad he didn't think of rope. Author Reply: Elves don't need rope - they can climb! :>)

I liked this--a series showing all the Fellowship's thoughts would be really cool. But if I could only have one, I'll definitely take Legolas. :-) Author Reply: That's an interesting idea - but I don't think I could make them sufficiently different and individual. You'll have to make do with Legolas!

Better safe than sorry - and all sorts of other preparatory sayings. Restless, anxious, determined. Setting off will be a relief now. Author Reply: Mmm. I only had Legolas in mind when I wrote this, but it's surprisingly appropriate. Restless, anxious, determined. Setting off will be a relief now. Yes, the anticipation's the worst part (and we know all about that here. My daughter's off to Uni for the first time on Sunday.)

Ready for anything eh? Really? If only the only dangers were physical! Author Reply: *Sigh* He was prepared to face death, Nazgul, all sorts of horrors - but it was the gulls that got him in the end :(

for whatever fate...i am sure that the mental preparation would have been every bit as thorough.Nice look over the shoulder of one of our favorite elves. Author Reply: I'm glad you picked up on that point. It wasn't just the weapons he was getting ready, but himself as well. None of them knew what lay ahead, except that it wouldn't be nice, and that they probably wouldn't come back home :(

It must have been hard deciding whether Legolas should be honing one knife or two. I guess you prefer the book version. ;) Author Reply: I always prefer the book version! The films were great, and I loved that scene of Legolas twirling the twin knives, but Tolkien comes first :>)
