| hi I absolutely love your story,as always. Poor Frodo! I wish he would not always try to deal with all his problems on his own. He should really confide in someone. I know that feeling. I have trouble in college, for some reason I always think I can handle problems on my own and than the situation gets out of hand. I can not believe that Frodo lost trust in Bilbo like that. Honestly, Bilbo loves his nephew and would like to know of Frodo’s problems, because he is trying to help him. You write Frodo as such complex hobbit I thought of sending all those Mary sue writers form FF net to your profile, so that they can see what real fan fiction looks like. Ok rant is officially over. When Merry told Frodo that he had no right of his mother's love, my first thought was Merry you idiot, do not destroy your friendship with Frodo like that. Oh yes and I fell out of my chair with shock at Merry’s words and Frodo’s actions. I hold you responsible by the way. As the other reviewer mentioned, Frodo was not necessarily innocent in this confrontation. However Merry’s words were quite cruel. It will take a long time to restore the trust that has been ripped apart by these words. I want to give Marroc a piece of my mind. How can he threaten another hobbit into stealing for him, Poor Frodo, I hope he will find the strength to talk about this to Merry or his father. However I have a feeling that it will not be so Maybe Merry will come in and see Marroc’s conformation, than he could explain everything to Merry and he could help him. What do you think? So, no Bilbo for the nest few chapters right? Oh that is too bad. Oh well, it is your story. Would you mind if I once again congratulate you on your excellent story. I can see all the actions floating by in front of my eyes. Alexa Author Reply: Oh, dear! You do have to be careful with your reviews. I can't decide whether I should blush or beam like mad. Thank you so much! Frodo doesn't really want to handle everything himself but he cannot help it. He doesn't have the family that would support him enough, at least that's what he thinks. So he waits and hopes to get things settled but eventually they always get out of hand and leave him no other way but to confide in someone. Yes, for a moment one does hate Merry in this chapter. But then, Merry didn't mean it. Frodo knows that, but it hurt nontheless, after all it's as he said: he feels it every day. As for Bilbo: well, Frodo was so full of hope that other day and Bilbo didn't seem to see it. And then he shattered all those hopes with one blow. And Frodo, being as unsure about his place as he is, was uprooted. He would like nothing more than to trust Bilbo, but he doesn't dare it. He doesn't have the strength to be abandoned again so he doesn't allow any close relationship anymore... be that Bilbo or Hanna for example. I'm afraid everything as already written and will not be changed anymore. I have finished chapter 99 last week, so I am quite a bit in the future :) Thank you, once more, for your generous praise. | Hi Lily! "Ich sag dir was, Frodo: ich brauche keine Angst zu haben, dass Mama dir näher sein könnte als mir. Das wird sie niemals sein, denn sie ist meine Mutter und du hast keinen Anspruch auf sie." Mein Gott! Das hat mir die Sprache mindestens genauso verschlagen wie Frodo! Ich bezweifle nicht im geringsten, dass Merry dieser Satz sofort, nachdem er ihn ausgesprochen hatte, leid getan hat. Aber weiß er wirklich, was er damit angerichtet hat? Das hat tief getroffen - mitten ins Herz. Natürlich ist Frodo nicht ganz unschuldig an dieser Eskalation. Mir kam es so vor, als ob Merry schlicht und einfach nicht bemerkt hat, was sich da zwischen Frodo und Esmeralda abspielte. Und das ist wirklich schade. Vielleicht hätte sich sonst etwas geändert. Wie dem auch sei, Frodos Anschuldigungen waren ungerecht, aber Merry's "Feststellung" war grausam! Ich hoffe, sie können sich wieder zusammenraufen. Marroc ist momentan obenauf! Durch den kleinen Merimas hat er Frodo fest in der Hand. Ich frage mich, wie lange es noch dauert, bis der beim Stehlen erwischt wird. Ob er dann wohl alles erzählt? Wir werden sehen... Zumindest gibt es einen Trost: Den scharfen Augen von Merimac entgeht so schnell nichts. Vielleicht kann er Frodo (und/oder Nelke) in noch so mancher Situation helfen. P.S.: Lily Brandybock? Die ist mir noch nie aufgefallen. Wenn ich den Namen "Lily" höre, denke ich entweder an Dich, oder an Cuthalions Lily, und die trägt, glaube ich, den Nachnamen Stolzfuß ;-) Author Reply: Keine Sorge, du hast Lily Brandybock nicht übersehen. Sie wurde hier das erste Mal und bisher sogar das einzige Mal erwähnt. Ich brauchte ein paar Kinder und sollte ich etwa die Mädels nicht Lily nennen, wo ich den Namen doch so liebe, nur weil ich mich selbst Lily Baggins nenne? :p Mir gehts übrigens wie dir... ich denke bei Lily nicht an mich, sondern auch zuerst an Lily Proudfoot... und dann an Lily Bolger... "meine" Lily - die allerdings niemals Frodos Geliebte sein wird :) Ah, dir fiel Merimac auf! Ich mag seine scharfen Augen! :) Aber was ich noch mehr mag, ist, dass er sagt was Saradoc bisher noch nie über die Lippen gekommen ist: ein offenes Lob für Frodo. Merrys Aussage hat ihr Ziel nicht verfehlt: mitten ins Herz. Beabsichtigt war das natürlich nicht, aber er war wütend über Frodos nicht gerechtfertigte Aussage und da redet er schon mal ohne zuerst nachzudenken. Du hast natürlich Recht: Merry hat gar nicht mitgekriegt, was zwischen Frodo und Esmeralda passierte. Hätte er es gewusst, hätte er es bestimmt nicht wiederholt unterbrochen. Er merkt nur, dass Frodo (wegen Marroc - was Merry aber auch nicht weiß) immer gereizter und angespannter ist, und irgendwann wurde es ihm einfach zuviel. | |
