I love the layers of this - Merry and Pippin trying to fool Paladin and Saradoc - Paladin and Saradoc adding their own two-pennyworth - and Cullassss*** adding her own rather unearthly edge to the game. Splendid. Author Reply: So glad you enjoyed it, Bodkin! It's interesting how small things can unexpectedly grow; like stories for instance ;-) Thank you!

Oh, wonderful, Pearl! And now, is it Frodo or Elves who linger watching on the eastern edge of that field, I wonder? But the wonder of knowing the prank has been added to so is immense. Yes, there is MORE! Lovely! Author Reply: Thank you, Larner! I've been asked to not say a word ;-) Glad you enjoyed it!

This is lovely, so funny and with just a hint of mystery lingering, even after most of the markings have been explained. Author Reply: Thank you, mews1945. I'm glad it brought a smile and something to mull over as you go through your day. :-)

"There was more." LOL!!!! Just great, Pearl! I would have really liked to see their faces, first those of Merry and Pippin and then those of their fathers ;-) Whoever it was, that made the pattern even more intricate than it already was, he must have had a lot of fun! Maybe it was faeries, maybe some lad from the neighbourhood, or maybe even Frodo (if he was also visiting)... Who knows? In Germany we have a saying "Wer zuletzt lacht, lacht am besten". That would be "The one who laughs last, laughs best"! That's it, exactly :) Author Reply: Thank you, Andrea! We have the same saying here in the States! Truly, who will ever know . . . and even if I do, I'm not telling ;-)

That's a great story! Who were the other mischief makers? The Took daughters? It's great to hear something of Saradoc's and Paladin's youth as well. Author Reply: Thank you, Lilly! I'm afraid those who were laughing in the hedge row didn't tell me who they are ;-)

How delightful, Pearl! Was it faeries after all??? *huge grin* Author Reply: I'm so glad you liked it, shirebound, and thank you for "nudging the silly bunny" my way :-) Thank you as well for the mention on your LJ *bows to shirebound to acknowledge her graciousness* Was it faeries? Well . . .
