Light from the West  by Armariel 2 Review(s)
BodkinReviewed Chapter: 46 on 12/4/2006
Poor Guilin. Although he still seems to be unashamedly shallow in most things. Including his devotion to his one true love. But he'd be better off learning to deal with his past rather than obliterating it. After all, Raven still needs him.

Author Reply: She does, and I hope she and Frodo can dissuade him. He's seriously messed up and trying desperately to escape his private hell, and it won't be easy. As he is now, marriage is the last thing he needs, and marriage with him is the last thing his fiancée needs. But erasure would be a form of suicide, and devastating to his sister.

He does carry an intolerable burden of grief and painful memories, and I can see why he would consider having his memory erased. But it ought to be Raven's own choice, as Frodo points out.

Author Reply: Not sure if he will do it or not yet...he might be better off and yet the TLC he will no doubt receive from Raven's new family would surely do him some good, although perhaps he is beyond that and his revelation has brought him to his breaking point. And Raven will not stand either for having it done without her leave, if it is even possible. She didn't survive as long as she did by being weak-willed!
