| What better way to keep little Pippin out of the way! And ... peppermint candles - that sounds good! Author Reply: Thanks, Bodkin! I got the idea for the peppermint candles from Gryffinjack, who originally suggested I use them in another story. They didn't work there, but fit in well with this scene. I'm glad you enjoyed! :) | |

| Yum!! How very sweet, Slightly Tookish! I can just smell the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked cookies emanating from Bilbo's cozy kitchen. Just as it's tradition in the Shire, my mother always makes a ton of Christmas cookies at this time of year. She's always baking something ... and my job is to decorate them, as I'm her official cookie decorator even now as an adult. Wee Pippin must feel very special indeed to have been asked by Bilbo to help with the Yule baking. I was beginning to wonder where Frodo and Merry were. How very smart of them to request that Bilbo keep Pippin occupied so as to wrap his Yule gifts. I bet they were wrapping Bilbo's too! LOL! I also was my mom's official cookie decorator and have many happy memories of that. Baking seems like such a hobbity activity, and I would imagine that the children are involved at a young age too :) I definitely think Frodo and Merry were wrapping Bilbo's gifts too, but they wouldn't tell a known sneak and burglar that! LOL! I hope you have a wonderful holiday as well! :) | |
