I do think that Faramir might have eventually forgiven the servants; but I can see him feeling anger when he first learns how they prepared to burn him alive at Denethor's bidding, and that anger might have lasted awhile.

Author Reply: I think he would have, too - but I just couldn't see him brushing it off right away as no big deal. He's got every reason there is to be angry.
Thanks!

"Just following orders"... yet these are men he knew. Faramir has much reason to feel so betrayed.

- Barbara

Author Reply: He really does, IMO - but I'm also sure that he did, at some point, manage to forgive those men.
Thanks!

"Just following orders." The excuse of those whose hearts have been dulled to inaction, whose emotions have been frozen. It doesn't speak well of the commanders, does it?

Author Reply: I have deeply serious issues with that particular defense, if that's not abundantly clear.
Thank you!
