Ah! I'm sad its over. I like Fastred and Bandy. But I suppose after the bad guys were 'taken care of' and peace restored, then there were only a couple of details left to wrap up. So, Farewell Fastred, Prince. Hello various plot spawn: Himb. & And. , The Black Knight grows up and wins his spurs. This was lovely. Thank you for sharing your gift!

Wonderful story!! Excellent writing, as always! I must admit to conflicting feelings, seeing this story end. On the one hand, I long for the resolution to all the various threads you've woven throughout the story, yet I hate to see the story end, since I have had such pleasure in reading it! I wouldn't be surprised if you encounter similar conflicting feelings. This story, as have your previous ones, has had such scrumptious little morsels strewn throughout - little word pictures that have been utterly delightful! Of course, almost all the various descriptions surrounding the elves, Legolas in particular, are wonderful to read. But I've particularly loved the "glimmery, glittering, ethereal atmosphere you almost continually have playing about Legolas, bringing this to our attention by mention of his shimmering hair, or glittering eyes, etc. Just a brief word here or there, but enough to forever remind us that he is different, special...wonderful! And I really thought it most appealing that you brought this whole story back around to end with Legolas assuming again his role as midwife, LOL! The whole picture of this being, who not only is a fighter and a warrior, but a prince, to boot, besides being an ethereal elf, yet who is able to assume the role of midwife and assist in bringing little ones into the world.....well, it is one of the more intriguing and beguiling pictures of Legolas that I've run across in fanfiction! GAH!! And you about had me off my chair and on the floor with this line from Legolas: “This one was not quite tiny enough,” said Legolas dryly from his perch by the window; he had a glass of wine in one hand, and a pastry in the other; he stretched his long legs out on the window-seat, and his hair gleamed like a sheet of ice with the pale yellow light behind it. “Should Éomer decide to put his lady wife through this a second time I shall ask him to adjust the size a bit.” Oh my gosh, that was perfect!! I loved the dry little bits of humor you had Legolas spouting all through this story - it seems like the like of humor one would hear from a being such as he. I think you've captured him perfectly. So now that I've flattered you so profusely, dare I inquire if we can expect another "Green Knight" story sometime...?? It would be such a shame to see the Green Knight put to bed (well, in one way yes, but in another way.........!!!), and to not have more stories coming from that creative mind of your. I know, easily said from one not doing the writing! Well, I'll simply leave it that your work is always a pleasure to read, and I haven't stopped recommending your stories to others. I'd love to see more!

Fastred is a very good kid! It's a huge statement for the heir presumptive to introduce the heir apparent to his people and accept his greater claim to the throne. I wonder if he will still have to spend most of his time in Rohan for a while - until everyone is convinced that the big baby will grow up into a healthy man. Or whether, now that Lothiriel has borne this one, that she will now go on to have several more little Rohirrim - as mothers often seem to after having great difficulty producing their first. Good story - I've thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to more instalments in the tales of the Green Knight. Author Reply: Thank you! I've enjoyed writing Fastred and watching him grow up a little. As far as his willingly displacing himself for little Elfwine, well ... I would have expected little else out of Faramir's son!

*peeks out from under a desk at school* Le Rouret, I belong to that group of readers who read and love a story dearly -- and never review...or fail to review consistently. I LOVE the world you have created in all your Green Knight stories! I have read and reread and reread and found them more appealing with each reading! This story was wonderful, especially seen through Fastred's eyes as he goes through the long and grueling process of growing up and into his inheritance. (And I love Lord Lassah!) So I am very sorry the story has reached an end - although I am glad those idiotic creeps, Breawine and Thealof, got what was coming to them! I sincerely hope you will continue with another look at the world of the Green Knight...Fastred and Tamin...Lassah, that intrepid matchmaker...Bandobras and Gimli...and of course, Himbalath and Andunie...so many of those loose ends *g* that need to be tied up! :-) And did I mention I love Lord Lassah? So here's to you *toasts the author* for a wonderful conclusion to a wonderful story, with the hope that there will be more to come! Linda Author Reply: Thank you, Linda, for crawling out from underneath your desk just to review my fic! I'm glad you liked them - they're fun to write (though awfully time-consuming), and I get to indulge myself in the what-would-have-happened-if universe of my own making.

A fitting end to this handsome epic pageant. Fastred has truly matured, from a boy playing at war to a young warrior and future statesman. And now he can go home, with Lothiriel and Eomer's happiness assured with the birth of their long-for child. Author Reply: Thank you for your review! Yes, Fastred was a bit of a wart at the beginning, but he turned out rather well, didn't he?

What a lovely and appropriate ending! I, too, am very proud of Fastred, and of all he's accomplished in his brief time as Heir! I do so hope this is not *truly* the end, and that you may be persuaded to take up the tale once more when they return to Ithilien--and we may see Bandobras reunited with his mother, and learn how Tamin becomes an esquire, and perhaps you may be persuaded to let Bandy have a visit with his own, long-missed kin, his uncle and cousin and their wives... And most especially I would like to see the outcome of Legolas' campaign on to win Andunie's heart for Himbalath!

Perfect ending!!! I loved this story, thank you for sharing it with us. I look forward to reading more of your stories in the LOTR universe :) Author Reply: I'm so glad you liked it! I'm feeling both relieved and disappointed it's over ... It's a fine line, knowing when to stop, and when you've said too much. But I suppose I left enough loose threads that they might unravel and return to Plot Bunny State eventually.

Le Rouret, that was a wonderful end to this story. The Queen of the Mark has a son at last! The remarks Legolas made about Elfwine's brute size, Lothiriel having small hips...and Eomer adjusting the size of his next child just had me laughing out loud.Legolas was a bit mean to prolong the suspense in announcing that Lothiriel had safely delivered a son, but it was fun to read! I hope that we will have more of Fastred's adventures in the future, Le Rouret. He is such a sweet child and he now has many friends....and I want to know how Andunie and Himbalath fare. Please write another story soon! Take care and have a wonderful 2007. Ali. Author Reply: Thank you, Ali! I was wondering if anyone would ask about Himbalath and Andunie ...

My parrot, who knows me well over these past 20 years, has been chanting steadily "Thank you!" as I have been reading this final chapter, and I echo that wholeheartedly! What a wonderful and unlooked-for conclusion to this story. Faramir is going to receive back to Osgiliath an heir of his own well trained in ways that very few ever manage. And to receive all of these changes with such grace after spending so long and so much of his strength, heart and innocence in learning to love his new home shows what a generous heart he has and what a truly good man he is. "Oh, it's a hobbit," said Merlin as I write this. Bandobras is one of the finest original characters created in the LOTR world of fanfic, and he will be missed, as will our adventures with Legolas, Fastred and company. I shall imagine all living happily ever after, even Himbalath and Andunie. Again, thank you for the time and effort put into sharing this tale with us, the cleverness of the characterizations and the intricacies of plotting. It has been a wonderful visit into this world you have created. Skye and Merlin, who says again "Thank you!" Author Reply: Thank you Skye, and Merlin wanna cracker? I had actually contemplated having Andunie reject Himbalath completely, and ending the story with him wandering off alone to fade in his misery somewhere between Lorien and Mirkwood ... but I just couldn't do it to the poor guy. Bandobras is probably the most enjoyable OC I've created, and if I find time (and plot bunnies) in the future I might just spin a fic about him! Thanks for reading!
