| It was a calm life these three led...but it was not meant to last, apparently. I am curious about what is actually worrying Elros, perhpas he fears one day he too will turn into a bird? The boys are delightful and I think Maglor truly deserved this short span of peace and homely tranquility. | |

| I'm enjoying the interaction between the boys, and their seemingly pleasant life with Maglor, although it's sort of seems like putting the wolf in charge of raising baby chicks. I might be a little worried too, if I were Elros. | |

It's interesting that Elros is nervous of Maglor, who saved him and Elrond, but almost completely at ease and happy with Maedhros, who had threatened his and Elrond's life (and from whom Maglor saved them). Anger displacement, maybe? These kids would be a therapist's dream; but then, a psychiatrist would have a field day with all the Feanorians. Though, given Elros' nervousness about Maedhros' right arm, there's probably some memory of Maedhros' desire to kill them. Those poor kids; and poor Maglor, who is so enjoying raising them. I hope that if the twins do remember, or learn, all that happened at Sirion, they'll stay with Maglor until they're grown. Elrond is right, geese are not pleasant-tempered birdies. | |

| I liked the image of the bend in the river like a pregnant mare's belly. You have to feel for Elros. His relationship to the sons of Feanor has to be ambiguous and he's just starting to sort it out. Unfortunately, pain's going to come from it for a long time yet. | |
