I love this story! Of all the sons of Feanor, Maglor and Maedhros were the only ones I ever liked and even pities (especially Maglor)--the rest of his sons I didn't care for and some I even downright despised, about the same way I feel about Feanor himself.....but I digress.... Anyway, I love this story and how you bring their characters alive. Elros is one character that I don't know very well; it seems few people write about him, and even Maglor and Maedhros don't appear in too many stories, so I'm thoroughly enjoying this introduction to them! the story is getting very interesting, and I am definitely looking forward to more! Great job and thanks for sharing!

Poor Elros. He's worked out enough to be angry, without being entirely sure quite who he's angry with or why. Maedhros is, in many ways, much less forgivable than Maglor - but Maglor is Adar, and so it's bound to be his fault. I'm not surprised that Elrond is upset enough to run. It's not much fun to have your carefully balanced home falling to pieces around you. I'm not sure for whom I feel most sorry here.

What a wonderful story, French Pony! I'm very sad that I have to wait for more chapters.... I'm really wanting instant gratifcation on this one! I'm reading the Sil again (I got so lost the first time, I decided to give it another go.. it's a bit easier this time around, but not by much! LOL), and I don't remember the Battle of Sirion, so I'm looking for that to brush up on the boys history here to help me along. I've never seen Young!Elrond before... I like him! He's cute and cuddly, and so's Elros. What precious boys they are and what a heartbreak for his parents to lose. It's funny though: I don't seem to ever remember reading that either of them "pined for their children"... elves are a strange lot sometimes. At least to humans they are. ::wink:: I also am intrigued by the fact that Maglor and Maedhros are "uncles" and raising the boys, especially if "they" were part of the attacking party... (where is that stupid section? Must find it! LOL) Well, I certainly can't wait to read more from you, and hopefully I'll have a better/fresher idea of the history of this story when the next chapter is posted. Great job! God Bless, Dayna

Oh wow... you know, you always stun me with your writing, in all the best possible ways... but this is just wonderful, and I really needed to read something wonderful tonight. :-) Thank you! I am so afraid for all of them... Elros is being so angry and sad that I want to hug him... Elrond is being SO Elrond-ish, and the sons of Feanor are just magnificent and stunning... this is so well written, the characterizations are exquisite, and it feels SO very real!! I adore this. It is to this era what the King Stag story is to the Greenwood and little Legolas and mourning Thranduil: a realistic, brilliant portrayal of grief and confusion. Thank you SO very much!!!

Elros´youth and confusion come out so clearly! I love it when he cannot decide waht he wants and wants all things at the same time, a frightened child and a revenge'seeker and a survivor aware that they have ben sleeping with the enemy. His concerns are only too well founded, sadly, and the previous situation was quite unnatural for them, now that they know the truth.

Oh my, Elros finally opened the door to the closet and all the skeletons came tumbling out. And unfortunately, Elros is not too far from the truth, I think. The oath would mean their lives, should they stand in the way. A good chapter, FP. This had to be an extremely confusing time for the children.

Poor Elros. He's so confused and angry and upset, and he doesn't really understand the love he still has for Maglor. And Elrond doesn't understand *why* his twin is so confused and angry and upset - and now he's run off into danger. I hope you can resolve things soon - I'm worried about both twins! Jay

At least he has the proper stimulus to work himself out of the hysteria he's worked himself into--finding Elrond before Elrond comes to any serious harm in his own emotional hijacking. They do make a pair today, don't they? And I rejoice that Maglor was sufficiently in control to keep Maedhros from hurting Elros at his worst. A child's blows to an adult during a fit of such fear are likely to be far less harmful than an adult's to the child. And Maedhros has come around and is now once again the take-charge uncle who knows the right thing to do.

Poor Elros. I loved the lines where he thinks all the contradictory things he wants at the same time. Doesn't that just sum up so much of life?
