My Sword Weeps - Book Two - 'My Sword' Series  by Agape4Gondor 3 Review(s)

“Erkenbrand is the key,” Elrohir whispered. “Take him with us and they will not follow, fearing for his safety. If somehow I can persuade him that he will be released as soon as we reach the borders of Gondor…” hmmm
“Listen to me, Estel. He has visited this tent many times since we were brought here. We have spoken often while you lay asleep, healing. I tell you, I trust this man. There is a goodness about him. Besides, if we escape with horses, he will bear the punishment. I cannot let that happen. I will not be able to persuade him to come with us willingly, but once we are gone from here, I believe I can persuade him to try not to flee. He has shown great wisdom and honour in his speech.” hmmm maybe.
“Aragorn lay back on the cot, his hand covering his eyes. He knew the Rohirrim to be a wise and honourable people, but duty came first. Erkenbrand’s sense of duty would not allow them to escape. But perhaps his sense of honour would allow him to accept his fate once they brought him with them, allow him to travel with them without their having to fear treachery.” I see.
huh. That is rather a bad omen if you believe such things. But then, none of the SoE have died.

Okay, I'm with Aragorn in not liking the plan; and Ragnild's plan is also awfully iffy.

Author Reply: I felt the same way - Ragnhild seems to be going on a wing and a prayer... But Eru protects fools and idiots... I think she's counting on that!

As for Aragorn - any plan to escape the Rohirrim without earning them punishment is going to be a problem. It gets more complicated than he would wish.

Wow, I just have to laugh at the brothers causing mayhem, intentionally or not.

Author Reply: As much as the three of them have traveled together, fighting all kinds of who knows what beasts - you'd think Aragorn would be able to read their minds! It is still a shock to him. He is good and pure and they are corrupting little things, aren't they!!!! Said with tongue-in-cheek! Love those two.
