Light from the West  by Armariel 4 Review(s)

It is a good thing that Frodo is willing to live in the present. Although willingly surrendering his link to Sam took a lot of courage. Courage that will, hopefully, be rewarded.

And Raven is speaking! For herself? Or in another's voice? Only time will tell!

Author Reply: Ulp...I thought I had answered this one! Yes, I think it will be amply rewarded...and yes, he has a family now and must live in the present and keep moving forward, although there's no harm in glancing back over his shoulder from time to time.

Raven is going to have a good deal to say very shortly! It will take courage for her also, but she has plenty of that. Yes, time and the Muse will tell!

Ah, yes, a sacrifice truly given is often returned, fulfilled and far more than it was when it left the hands of the giver.

Author Reply: "Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days." (Ecclesiastes 11:1) Could also apply to light, maybe? Especially since light travels much faster than bread;)

This is one of your best letters! I have missed him talking to Sam in this way. I hope he feels the certainty of his brother's forgiveness. That was a sacrifice indeed but as it was a freely, lovingly given gift, it is returned to him. Love his talk with Raven about prayers being heard even when not spoken. And that excerpt from Answers - one of my favorite poems from you, indeed my very favorite. I could quote you back much more of my favorite stuff, but that would be a bit overwhelming there is so much! Hantanyel for this!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Thank you and you're welcome, Dearie! I'm sure he'll feel it, and maybe as far as Sam is concerned, there is nothing to forgive. Guess our hero got a lesson in faith and listening to one's heart, and he knew deep down it would work for the best, even if he momentarily forgot that bread cast on the waters etc. could apply to light also.

I think "Answers" is my favorite of the Frodo poems also--I still catch myself choking up over it! Thanks so much once more for reviewing.
